In the last few years, Hrithik Roshan has had a long gap between two releases. While Kaabil released in January 2017, his next, Super 30, will open in cinemas only in January 2019. This means the actor won’t have a film hitting the marquee for exactly two years. While actors like Aamir Khan have shown a preference for working on one project at a time, others like Akshay Kumar believe that multiple releases a year is the right path to follow.

Salman Khan, too, had said that all superstars should have five releases in two years, to keep the revenue spinning at the box office. Hrithik had agreed with the Dabangg actor’s views too. He had told us last year, “Yes, there’s a huge crunch at the box office and I totally agree with what Salman has said. I’m trying to do that, but I’m not finding amazing films. I’m totally open to doing at least two films every year.”

Now, it looks like the superstar has started working towards the goal. Says a source, “Hrithik has as many as five films lined in the next two years. That’s a marked change from his usual model. He has okayed around five projects, which are likely to be shot one after the other.”

YRF film, right after Super 30 shoot

Currently, the actor is shooting for Super 30. “Hrithik will wrap it by the end of next month,” confirms our source adding, “Right after that, he has given bulk dates to Yash Raj Films (YRF) for director Siddharth Anand’s film co-starring Tiger Shroff, which will be shot in a start-to-finish schedule from August to December.”

Rohit Dhawan’s next

After Hrs was the first to tell you that Hrithik has also greenlit Rohit Dhawan’s next. “Sajid Nadiadwala is producing the film. Rohit starts his mass entertainer in February 2019, right after Super 30’s release. The makers are currently in the process of finalising the female lead and are in talks with Disha Patani to star opposite him,” reveals our source.

Krrish 4 and 5

Apart from these three films, the Bang Bang actor will also be reprising his superhero avatar in two instalments of the Krrish franchise. Our khabri explains, “Rakesh Roshan has got his team to work simultaneously on Krrish 4 and 5, which is now being planned as a two-part series. It will be conceptualised on the lines of The Avengers and Baahubali. Hrithik is expected to begin filming for the Krrish projects in October 2019. The shooting for the two films will take place back-to-back. The plan is to release the first of the two-part project in 2020, while the next one will follow soon after, with a 2021 release.”
