His sense of humour, which one gets an insight into through his witty social-media posts, also shone through. Be it buying an award or his relationship with his son Ranbir Kapoor, he didn’t hold back and gave readers an honest glimpse into his life.

NAWAZUDDIN SIDDIQUI

WHAT: An Ordinary LifeWHAT’S IT ABOUT: Nawaz had warned before the release of the book that this would be an honest and potentially controversial tale. And it proved to be just that. His co-star Niharika Singh filed a complaint against him, which led to the biography being recalled. In his memoir, the actor spoke about his dream of making it big in Bollywood, his struggle to do so and his numerous affairs. The actor’s ordinary life comes across to be pretty extraordinary.

WHAT: Me and MaWHAT’S IT ABOUT: Divya paid ode to her mother, Dr Shalini Dutta, through this book. The actress wrote about how the latter was an integral part of her life. She also beautifully described the bond that she shared with her mother, who was a single parent. Like on screen, the actress kept it real in the pages of her book, too.
