Eighteen years ago, Lara Dutta beat Priyanka Chopra and Dia Mirza to become Miss Universe 2000. India witnessed a rare triple victory that year as Priyanka and Dia also brought home the coveted Miss World and Miss Asia Pacific titles, respectively. Priyanka may be a bigger star today but Lara Dutta's Miss universe win is still considered epic for more reasons than one.

A latest report in India Today reveals that she holds a unique record that remains unbroken to this day. 

Lara became the 'Sharma Ji Ka Beta' of beauty pageants that year by scoring highest marks in the history of beauty pageant competitions. She had grabbed a score of 9.99 from almost all of her judges. She had achieved the highest score in the swimsuit round. Her finale question score was also the highest individual score in any category in the history of the Miss Universe contest.

Lara was the second Indian to have won the Miss Universe title after Sushmita Sen's 1994 win. No Indian contestant has won the crown since. The actress also holds the title of Miss Intercontinental 1997.
