On World Bicycle Day today, we bring to you five iconic moments on and off screen where the mode of transport played a major role
It is World Bicycle Day today. The good effects of riding a bicycle are many. It helps keep health in check, and also reduces pollution to the environment, which are caused by other modes of transportation like autos, cabs, buses, trains, motorcycles, car, planes etc.
Bollywood has been effectively trying to promote riding bicycles over other modes of transportation. Salman Khan has often been the face of the same and has even launched his own brand from Being Human which will now be called 'Being Human e-Cycle.'
However there are some iconic moments in B-Town, both on and off-screen which are still fresh in our mind. For example, this time (during Eid) in 2016, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan went out for a late-night bicycle ride. On screen, a bicycle was responsible for saving Mithun Chakraborty's life, literally.

Salman Khan had recently gone out to bicycle with Union Minister Kiren Rijuju. He was promoting Arunachal Pradesh tourism there.

Back in 2016, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan had gone on a late-night bicycle ride around Eid. After they broke their roza and sehri, the two went on a ride since Salman Khan suggested the same, reports BusinessOfCinema. Sharing the photo, Shah Rukh Khan wrote, "Bhai bhai on bike bike. No pollution". Salman Khan in his style wrote, "Michael Lal Cycle Lal."

Ishaan Khatter came into the spotlight recently since he cycled his way wearing headphones. The Dhadak actor invited trolls after his act.
4. Iconic moments in movies

Amitabh Bachchan, who always suffered from constipation in Piku, was the happiest when he landed on a bicycle. Akshay Kumar sold sanitary pads on them in Padman.
5. The iconic 'Gunda' moment

We could probably salute Mithun Chakraborty for hiding behind a bicycle and dodging bullets in the movie Gunda. Ladies and gentlemen, bicycle saves lives, literally!
