Sharmila Tagore was the first guest on Kareena Kapoor Khan's radio show titled 'What Women Want' season 2.
Kareena Kapoor Khan is back as a radio jockey with her radio show What Women Want season 2. Her first guest on the show was the actor's mother-in-law and legendary actor Sharmila Tagore. This is the first time, Kareena interview Sharmila and they share a beautiful relationship, indeed. During the interaction, they both discussed the difference between a daughter and a daughter-in-law. Also, a difference between a mother and a mother-in-law.
Kareena also asked Sharmila to reveal her favourite grandchild amongst Sara Ali Khan, Ibrahim Ali Khan, Taimur Ali Khan and Inaaya Naumi Kemmu. The interview was a visual delight and check out some interesting quotes below:
1. Sharmila Tagore on difference between a daughter and a daughter-in-law

Kareena Kapoor Khan asked Sharmila Tagore what is the difference between a daughter and a daughter-in-law. To which the veteran actor stated, "Well, a daughter is someone you’ve grown up with, right? So you know her temperament, you know what makes her angry and how to deal with that person. You’re meeting your daughter-in-law when she is an adult already and you don’t quite know what her temperament is like, so it takes time to gel. The new girl, your daughter-in-law, is coming to your house so you need to welcome her and make her more comfortable."
2. On her married life with Tiger Pataudi

Sharmila Tagore shared an anecdote on being married to Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. She said, "I remember when I got married… I am a Bengali, I like my rice. And they were all roti-phulka eating people. I love my fish and Tiger hated fish. You know, that kind of adjustment. They seem very minor but they are not really, in the long run."
3. What does Sharmaila Tagore like and not like about Kareena Kapoor Khan?

Kareena asked Sharmila what she likes about her daughter-in-law, to which she said, "I like your consistency. I like the way you keep in touch because I know that if I sent you a message, you will invariably answer. Saif would, not Soha. Soha most certainly won’t reply. I mean, she will take time, but you will reply."
Sharmila also said, "If I am coming to the house, you will ask me what I like to eat and I get what I want. That must be the Kapoor trait because you keep a wonderful table."
The Aradhana actor went on to praise Bebo by taking a trip down memory lane. She stated, "I have seen you when Tiger was in the hospital and how you didn’t draw attention to yourself. It so happened that (September) 21st is your birthday and Tiger passed away on the 22nd. You were there and you were just like my children and my family. I really remember that. I have seen you during various stages, and you have been rather wonderful, I must say."
When asked about what she does not like about Kareena, Sharmila said, "I just wish you would stay this way because your temperament is such. I have seen you work with your staff… Some of us get very tense and make it difficult for others around us. You don’t do that; you are intuitive. So I just wish you will stay like this and not get uptight about anything."
4. On Taimur Ali Khan getting media attention

Kareena went on to ask about her son Taimur Ali Khan getting media attention. Sharmila replied, "Yes, social media is a concern. Your child would be shaped by many influences you won't be able to control those influences. Later on, when he's grown up enough to really access social media, he will be bombarded with so many information. But I feel what the media does is builds you up and then suddenly dumps you."
She quipped, "Tomorrow Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma will have a child, Taimur might be relegated. I hope so..."
5. Sharmila Tagore reveals her favourite grandchild

Kareena asked Sharmila who is her favourite grandchild among Sara Ali Khan, Ibrahim Ali Khan, Taimur and Inaaya Naumi Kemmu. The legendary actor stated, "I have to live. I can’t possibly commit myself to that. They are all very different from each other and it’s really wonderful that I have two grown-up grandchildren and two very little grandchildren. So I am enjoying both. And I think Sara’s interviews, I just love and I am proud of her. And Ibrahim is the only one who looks like a Pataudi. He is kind of tall and he likes cricket."
