1.It began with a bang in India

Being one of the most awaited movies (what do you expect when legendary actors Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan come together, and are backed by YRF for a Diwali release), the film managed to garner the highest opening of 2018 – with Rs. 50 crores, after all this Jodi comes on-screen once in a blue moon, but that was soon replaced by memes and critics bashing the film alike.
2.The movie then failed miserably, collecting only 5 crores on Monday

Even though it collected around 100 crores over the first weekend, Thugs Of Hindostan fell flat in the face, earning only Rs. 5 crore on its first Monday and dropping in collection of lakhs over time, a shame for a superstar like Aamir Khan, who has been giving back-to-back hits.
3.Made on budget of 335 crore, it minted only 150 crore

A grand film with lot of VFX work involved and newer sets created, Thugs costed the team Rs. 335 crore, but it only earned Rs. 150 crore in India and now Rs. 10 crore in China. Back during his Indian release, Aamir had apologized for disappointing his fans with the film. Despite that, he released the film in China theatres, since it maybe was the last hope for the makers.
4.All Aamir films have done well in China, and Dangal and Secret Superstar did exceptionally well, even better than India

Aamir Khan enjoys a huge superstardom in China, because of which Thugs Of Hindostan isn’t exactly at a loss in China, considering the makers received a huge price from the local distributors (more than Rs. 100 crore) there.
