In 2024, Maddock Films struck gold at the box office. In a year where Bollywood was struggling for a big dhamaka, the production house went on to give the biggest Hindi blockbuster- Stree 2. However, before Stree 2, Maddock made another big bang with Munjya. This film is the third instalment of Maddock Horror Comedy Universe after Stree and Bhediya. Munjya stars Sharvari and Abhay Verma in the lead roles, along with Suhas Joshi, Mona Singh, Taranjot Singh, and Sathyaraj. 

The movie focuses on the legend of Munjya, which is inspired by Indian folklore and mythology. In the Konkan region there is a belief that if a man passes away without getting married after his munja ceremony (beginning of the student phase) but before his Sod Munja (transition from student life to householder life), he transforms into a Munjya—a spirit dwelling in peepal trees or close to wells.

Munjya is reportedly made in a budget of Rs 30 crores, and the film earned Rs 127.95  crore in India, and Rs 4.18 crore internationally, taking the worldwide collection to Rs 132 crores.

Reportedly, Munjya raked in Rs 78 crore in terms of return on investment. Munjya's ROI (Return on Investment) stands at 260 per cent.

The success of Munjya inspired the makers for a sequel, Maha Munjya. The film is slated for December 24, 2027 release.
