Sunjay Kapur death: When Karisma Kapoor accused him of domestic violence; ugly accusations during their divorce battle

Actress Karisma Kapoor married businessman Sunjay Kapur on September 29, 2003, in a traditional Sikh wedding at her ancestral home, Krishna Raj Bungalow, Mumbai. The former couple have two kids: Samaira (born in March 2005) and a son, Kiaan (March 2011).

In 2014, Sunjay and Karisma decided to part ways, and they filed for divorce through mutual consent. However, in 2015, they filed applications to withdraw their consent to it, and then their divorce proceedings became a high-profile case, in which both parties made serious allegations against each other.

As per the reports, Karisma made a shocking accusation against Sunjay, claiming that he tried to auction her off. As BollywoodShadis reported, in one of Karisma's pleas, she narrated an incident from her honeymoon. The Raja Babu actress reportedly stated that Sunjay tried to auction her and even forced her to sleep with his friends. When she refused to do so, he allegedly beat her and even quoted her price to one of his friends.

In 2016, Karisma Kapoor filed a domestic violence case against Sunjay Kapur and his mother, accusing them of physical abuse. Kapoor claimed that when she was pregnant, Sunjay told his mother to slap her when she couldn't fit into a dress.

Karisma also filed a dowry harassment case against Sunjay, leading to a summons for him by the Mumbai police. All of these accusations started when Karisma claimed that Sunjay was not ready to support her financially. Thus, they withdrew their consent and started making ugly accusations in the media. Finally, in 2016, the court granted Karisma and Sunjay a divorce after a long legal battle. Sunjay moved on and married Priya Sachdev on April 13, 2017.
