The ‘masala entertainer’, as Ranveer would call it, collected Rs 11.78 cr on Thursday. Fortunately for the makers, 'Simmba' is one case where the film did not slow down even after New Year eve. In fact a week later too, the movie is earning in double digit numbers.
This is Shetty's eighth consecutive 100-crore film and the fourth Ranveer Singh starrer to cross over the 100-crore hurdle after 'Ram-Leela', 'Bajirao Mastani' and 'Padmaavat'.

Ranveer Singh, who began his career with a mass-entertainer, and wanted to perform action under Rohit Shetty since a long time, found 'Simmba'. The results of that was success at the Box Office both across the country and overseas. The film backed by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions has crossed the Rs 150 Cr mark within its first week and is expected to reach the 200-crore mark at minimum.

3. 2018 proved fruitful for both the actors

2018 seemed to belong to Ranveer Singh, who found success in the beginning of the year with 'Padmaavat', had a fulfilling journey shooting for 'Simmba' under Rohit Shetty and got backed by Karan Johar for the same, got married to his love, and found success in his Christmas release 'Simmba'.
Similarly for Sara Ali Khan, who made a thundering debut with 'Kedarnath', has hit the bull's eye again with 'Simmba'. Both her films are running simultaneously in cinema halls and have already crossed the coveted Rs 100 Cr mark.

'Simmba' might even become the third highest grossing film of 2018, right after Padmaavat, if Vicky Kaushal’s Uri, releasing on 11th January, doesn’t work well. The movie will then get time till Thackeray and Manikarnika release on 25th January, post which the collections of this one will be affected.
