Shaheen Bhatt, Rhea Kapoor, Ira Khan: Female star kids who are not actors

Here's a list of a few female star kids who opted for a career away from the cameras and have been equally successful as their actor siblings.

It is a well known fact that many of the famous and leading actors in the Hindi film industry come from a film background. From Alia Bhatt, Sonam Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Arjun Kapoor among several others, all these artists hail from families that have had a strong presence in the industry for years together. 

And while it is believed that most 'star kids' end up choosing to have career in films and become actors because it comes to them easily, having being around sets and witnessed the industry from the inside, but that's not exactly true. 

Not all of them aspire to be actors. 

Here's a list of a few female star kids who opted for a career away from the cameras and have been equally successful as their actor siblings. 

1. Shaheen Bhatt

Daughter of noted filmmaker-producer Mahesh Bhatt and sister of one of the leading ladies of Bollywood Alia Bhatt, Shaheen Bhatt isn't one who wishes to be an actress. 

However, Shaheen did work as an assistant director for 'Raaz 3: The Third Dimension' and was one of the screenwriters for 'Son Of Sardaar' starring Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinha. 

In 2018, Shaheen became a writer and launched her book titled 'I've Never Been (Un)Happier'. The book is about her battle with depression.

2. Rhea Kapoor

Born into a film family, expectations from Rhea Kapoor must have been really high. But unlike her sister Sonam Kapoor or brother Harshvardhan Kapoor, Rhea decided to stay away from the cameras. The Hindi film industry? Well, not so much. Rhea became a producer and backed female-centric films like 'Aisha', 'Khoobsurat' and more recently, 'Veere Di Wedding'.

A stylist, Rhea co-owns the high-end fashion brand "Rheason" with her sister Sonam. 

3. Ira Khan

Superstar Aamir Khan's second child with first wife Reena Dutta, Ira has till now never expressed a desire to an actor unlike her brother Junaid Khan, who will reportedly be seen in a film soon. However, in 2019, Ira made her directorial debut with theatre play called Euripides Medea featuring Hazel Keech.

More recently, Ira started online sessions wherein she speaks about her journey overcoming depression and spreading awareness about mental health. 

4. Anshula Kapoor

Daughter of filmmaker-producer Boney Kapoor and late Mona Shourie Kapoor, unlike her brother Arjun Kapoor or step-sister Janhvi Kapoor, Anshula never aspired to be an actor. And while she is not a popular actor like some other members in her family, Anshula is still quite accomplished. Reportedly she has even worked for Google as AdWords Representative for a brief period of five months. In 2012, she worked as a team builder for Habitat for Humanities. The same year, she worked with a home building project in Cluj, Romania. In 2014, Anshula Kapoor returned to Mumbai and started working as a licensing and merchandising associate for Exceed Entertainment. In 2015, she became the Operations Manager for Hrithik Roshan's fitness brand, HRX. Reportedly, Anshula now runs a celebrity fundraising platform, Fankind, through which she raises money for charity.

5. Riddhima Kapoor Sahni

Daughter of late Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor, both extremely popular and much-loved actors of their time in Indian cinema, there were never any reports of Riddhima aspiring to be an actor or planning to be in front of the camera. Sister of Ranbir Kapoor, Riddhima sure had other plans for herself. Currently married to Bharat Sahni, a well-known name in the field of garment export textile business, and mom to an adorable girl Samara Sahni, Riddhima is successful jewellery and interior designer. 

6. Shweta Bachchan Nanda

An author, a fashion icon and an entrepreneur who earlier hosted NextGen that aired on NDTV Profit, Shweta Bachchan Nanda chose to make a career outside the film industry. 

Daughter of Bollywood superstars Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan, unlike her brother Abhishek Bachchan and sister-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Shweta chose to stay away from movies, however, she has featured in several commercials alongside her famous parents. 

In 2018, the 46-year-old, along with noted designer Monisha Jaising, launched the fashion brand MXS. The same year, she also published her debut novel, Paradise Towers.

7. Janhvi Mehta

Always one to stay away from the limelight, Juhi Chawla and Jay Mehta's daughter Jhanvi Mehta is an entrepreneur in the making. 

In 2018, Jhanvi made headlines when she became the youngest person to ever be at an IPL auction table, representation Kolkata Knight Riders, and was spoken highly of by none other than Kings XI Punjab owner Priety Zinta. 

8. Krishna Shroff

Daughter of senior actor Jackie Shroff and sister of one of the biggest action stars in Bollywood -- Tiger Shroff, Krishna Shroff prefers promoting action in real-life. 

In 2018, Krishna Shroff and Tiger Shroff together launched MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) Matrix gym in Mumbai. The following year in Bareilly. The aim of MMA Matrix is to promote MMA and functional training across India. 

On the movie front, while Krishna has worked as an assistant director in 'Munna Michael', she has always maintained that acting is not something that 'intrigues' her and that she isn't 'one for the camera'.

9. Saba Ali Khan

Daughter of legendary cricketer late Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and veteran actress Sharmila Tagore, and the sister of actors, Saif Ali Khan and Soha Ali Khan, Saba Ali Khan made her career outside movies. A jewellery designer by profession, Saba is also the Chief Trustee of Royal Trust established by the princely state of Bhopal as a royal charitable endowment.
