SCOOPS: When Salman Khan stole crowd from Priyanka's reception, Ranbir-Alia's New Year in New York

Salman Khan  strode into Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas’ reception in Mumbai on December 20. He met the couple, wished them and exited within a short period of time. He noticed some Bollywood types attempting to burn the dance floor. One hears that Bhai also told some of the guests that later that evening, he was partying at home. Guess what? Like Pied Piper, a lot of the guests exited Nickyanka’s reception venue and headed to Salman’s Galaxy apartment. Like they say,  when Salman whistles, the world takes notice.

Ever since Kapil Sharma announced the return of his show, there has been news about Shah Rukh Khan appearing as a guest on it. Reports suggested that since his film Zero was releasing around the same time as Kapil’s show was scheduled to start, he would be visiting the set along with his co-stars Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma to promote it.

However, the superstar hasn’t shot for the show yet. Earlier, Kapil had cancelled the shoot with SRK at the last minute during the promotions of Jab Harry Met Sejal.

Back then, it was reported that King Khan was not upset and that he had told Kapil to take rest. However, SRK did not attend Kapil’s wedding reception. Both, the Zero actor and Salman Khan, who is also producing Kapil’s show, had gone for Katrina Kaif’s X’mas bash and skipped the stand-up comedian’s reception, even though it was 20 minutes away from the venue. 

Sources say that both Sunil Grover and Kapil are trying to get the superstar on their respective shows, but haven’t succeeded so far. In fact, when Sunil, who considers himself a copy of the superstar and had the audience in splits with his Gerua (Dilwale) act earlier, greeted SRK this year on his birthday on social media, the superstar wrote back, “Thank you so much my man. Next show with you let’s see if you can do the act of Bauaa!! (sic)” However, he is yet to appear on the show. 

Reportedly, SRK wants to avoid any kind of controversy. If he doesn’t go to Kapil’s show, he would rather not go to Sunil’s either. And if he does, he will go to both. In the meantime, the B-Town Badshah has already made the rounds of other shows like Indian Idol, Dance Plus 4, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Bigg Boss and Babaji Ki Chowki.   

We don’t understand the constant fuss over Sanjay Dutt having a working New Year’s Eve. The fact of the matter is that the Bollywood superstar was to shoot for Panipat through the holiday period of Christmas and New Year. However, his schedule at Karjat was cut short because of some technical glitches. Our source said, “Some costumes, props, armoury and artefacts that were to come in from Rajasthan hadn’t arrived on time. Hence, the shooting has been postponed to January 2, 2019.” 

So, Dutt is actually getting some time off with his wife Maanayata and their twins — Shahraan and Iqra. 

Given that it’s the season to wind up the year and make merry with your near and dear ones, B-Town celebs have made their plans. While some have already left for their annual vacation, others will be taking off in a day or so. And there are also those who will ring in the New Year in town. 

Farhan Akhtar is headed to his Lonavla farmhouse, to celebrate the occasion with his daughters, Shakya and Akira. Radhika Apte is headed to London for a holiday with her family. Since her husband Benedict Taylor, a British musician stays there, it seemed only natural that the 

AndhaDhun actress would be celebrating with him in the UK capital. Sanya Malhotra, who had a good year at the movies, is also going to London with her sister and friends to begin her 2019. 

Swara Bhasker has planned a getaway with her family. Since she hasn’t been able to spend enough time with her family due to her hectic shoot schedules, the actress is taking her parents, brother and bhabhi to Udaipur for a holiday and New Year celebrations.

Shraddha Kapoor and Fatima Sana Shaikh aren’t planning to travel and will with their respective families. Sara Ali Khan, whose second film, Simmba, releases today, will also be staying put in Mumbai, and usher in 2019 with her family and close friends.

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh plunged headlong into work after their mid-November wedding in Italy. Since the groom has been busy with the promotions of Simmba, which releases today, the power couple was unable to factor in a honeymoon. However, sources say that the couple will go on one soon. Ranveer had told us earlier, “I’ve set aside a few days for a break at the end of the year as has my wife. Actually, for the last few years, I have always been keeping a few days off to spend with Deepika. This vacation usually includes her birthday (January 5) as well. This time around, too, we will spend New Year’s Eve together and then party again on her birthday.” While their destination is still not known, an insider whispered that it would be somewhere in Europe. Que sera sera!

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt brought in 2018 with their director dost Ayan Mukerji, in whose Brahmastra, the two young stars are teaming up together for the first time. Back then, they kick-started the year with their shoot in Bulgaria. This time around, we hear that the two actors, who are in a relationship, are said to be ushering in 2019 in New York. 

A source tells us that the Raazi actress will soon be leaving for the Big Apple. Apparently, the Sanju actor, too, is headed there. Moreover, it is also believed that the two will also meet Rishi and Neetu Kapoor in NY, where they are attending to RK Sr’s health concerns.
