Those who have seen the trailer of Ajay Devgn’s upcoming film De De Pyaar De have been quite amused by his dialogue. In one place, the Total Dhamaal actor is actually justifying his relationship with a girl very much his junior (Rakul Preet Singh) by saying, “Old man, young woman relationships are really successful. Classic examples being that of Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, George Clooney and Amal Clooney and closer home, Saif (Ali Khan) and Kareena (Kapoor Khan).”

The trailer, which released on April 2 (Ajay’s birthday), went viral because of the humour it packed. This particular line with the Hollywood and Bollywood film actors’ names elicited maximum laughter from the audience at the event. Soon after the launch, Ajay called his Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior co-actor Saif and told him about the dialogue. We heard from sources that the Nawab of Pataudi, whose sense of humour is legendary told Ajay, “Hey, that’s cool, man.” Saif actually added that he was happy that Ajay, who turned 50 this year, was tackling such ‘cool’ roles. This, when translated, means that all heroes who were 45-plus, like himself, could look forward to getting more interesting characters to play on screen. That means, Hindi film heroes will finally play their age, which will be a huge relief for viewers.

Kareena, who is madly in love with her Nawab, has often told us that she has always been drawn to her husband’s sense of humour. We couldn’t agree more.

Chhichhore: Sushant Singh Rajput-Varun Sharma to fly to London for a 6-hour shoot!

Last week, the makers of Chhichhore announced its wrap up in a grand manner with a song shoot. The film, starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles, is set in two eras — the 1990s and 2019.

However, we hear that an important scene between Sushant and Varun Sharma that is part of the 2019 set-up, was yet to be shot. So, the two actors will be flying to London for the same. A source says that initially the makers had planned to film the scene in Chroma, as it’s only a six-hour shoot. However, producer Sajid Nadiadwala felt that they should shoot on actual locations. “Sajid loves London as a destination. So, he tries to include it in all his films. Be it the Housefull franchise, Judwaa 2 and now Chhichhore, the English capital has always served as a backdrop. Frankly, another producer would have compromised but Sajid is one of those who doesn’t believe in cutting corners. So, though the shoot is merely for six hours, director Nitesh Tiwari and Sajid felt, the actors should fly to the UK  “just for the experience.”

We’ve heard of actors going an extra mile for their roles. During the week-long schedule for his next in Sambhar, Rajasthan, Hrithik Roshan walked from the hotel to the location every single day. Reason: the road was so narrow that cars couldn’t go through the tiny lanes. To avoid causing a stampede (and there would have been one had people realised it was Hrithik walking), the Kaabil actor resorted to covering up his face. “Hrithik did the typical cap, dark glasses and a face mask routine,” says our source. Hrithik also took the opportunity to click some pictures of the place. On the last day of the shoot, the light-eyed superstar discarded his disguise and the fans who thronged there managed to get selfies with HR.

Tabu’s uber stylish avatar in her upcoming romantic comedy De De Pyaar De, which also stars Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh, has garnered a great
response. The National Award-winning actress says, “The reactions from my family, friends and fans have been lovely. Everyone is loving my look. My team and I wanted Manju (the character I play) to appear like a strong and independent woman. She also single-handedly takes care of her children. Right from her look to her behaviour to the way she dresses and talks to people, the idea was to make her distinctive. We have given importance to all nuances.”

The powerhouse performer is all praises for her stylist Aki Narula, too. She adds, “Since we shot the film in Manali, we had a chance to play with a lot of colours. Aki provided the perfect combination of clothes that gave my character a fabulous advantage. I loved what I wore. Hiral (my hairstylist) worked on an entirely new look for me and she has done a wonderful job. The high ponytail and other hairstyles we tried have worked.”
