1.Box Office: Zee Studios’ Sridevi starrer 'Mom' scores big in China

Sridevi’s last release, Mom, continues to create ripples at the cash registers. This time around, the Zee Studios’ film, in which a woman avenges her stepdaughter’s rape, raked in big numbers at the box office in China, where it released recently. The revenge drama has garnered over ¥100 million in the East Asian country and continues to attract footfalls.
What makes this feat noteworthy is that it is the fifth non-US import movie of the year to cross the ¥100 million-mark and only the second Indian film to achieve this, the first one being AndhaDhun, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Tabu.
This 2017 release earned big monies at the Indian box office, too, apart from winning a posthumous trophy at the 65th National Awards for Sridevi and AR Rahman for its background score.
2.Meezaan pumps up the energy for 'Malaal' song Aila Re

Meezaan, who won notices for the trailer of his debut, Malaal, is all set to impress audiences with his dancing skills in Aila Re. His introductory song in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali production, releases today.
The out-and-out masala number set against the backdrop of a bar, has been choreographed by Ganesh Acharya, who previously directed Ranveer Singh’s Tattad Tattad (Goliyon Ki Raasleela RaamLeela), Malhaari (Bajirao Mastani) and Khali Balli (Padmaavat).
In keeping with these three chartbusters, Ganesh also incorporated a signature step in Aila Re. We hear, Meezaan also ended up hurting himself with the rapid chest-hitting movements.
A source associated with the movie tells us, “Meezaan has inherited his dancing genes from his father Jaaved Jaaferi. So, Ganesh master went all out to incorporate some challenging moves given that the young actor would manage to pull the steps off. Since they had a packed schedule for this Mangesh Hadawale directorial, Meezaan would rehearse his steps in the night and shoot the scenes during the day.”
The youngster worked hard and maintained his focus during his practice sessions to ensure he brought in the energy the song required when the cameras rolled. “By the time they wrapped up the song, Meezaan had developed blood clots on his chest. However, by the end of filming, he felt it was all worthwhile.”
