Shraddha Kapoor had been dilly-dallying over the Saina Nehwal biopic for close to eight months now. And the man who was waiting patiently was director Amole Gupte. Sources say he had put in a lot of work before Shraddha came on board and for close to a year, he had been on a standby, waiting for her to allot dates. However, due to circumstances beyond her control, the brown-eyed actress kept giving other films priority over the national badminton champion’s biopic. Now, she has left it, and Parineeti Chopra has been announced as the new Saina.

The movie’s producers are confident of putting this biopic on fast-track now and readying it for a 2020 release. Guess the one man who must be heaving a sigh of relief with this development is the director. After all, he did confess to his friends that the past year had been ‘tough’ on him. In fact, we had texted Amole on two occasions in the past, asking him for his side of the story. But he remained unavailable for comment.

Maybe it is sometimes prudent to not speak against stars. You never know when paths cross in Bollywood.

Aamir Khan admits that when he is involved with work, the rest of the universe ceases to exist for him. He admits, “When I was shooting Dangal, I realised that I sometimes hadn’t spoken to my wife Kiran (Rao Khan) and my son Azad for days on end.”

However, after Kiran pointed this out to him (without actually complaining), Aamir has made changes in his daily schedules. He now spends every single evening with Azad at home (unless, of course, he is travelling for work). The father-son routine is absolutely adorable.

Aamir first plays with Azad, then asks him about his day at school, he gives him a bath each night and post dinner he tucks his son into bed, sometimes reading to him. Of course,  if he is busy with work commitments, Kiran fills in. In fact, Kiran is an absolutely hands-on parent, planning her life around their son.

Armed with a triple honours degree in business, finance and economics, Parineeti Chopra aspired to be an investment banker. However, destiny had other plans for her and she got into films. When we met her recently, we asked the Kesari actress if she plans to put her degrees to good use and become a producer. “Production of films is very different. You don’t need a business degree to become a producer,” she clarified. Like many of her contemporaries, Pari’s cousin Priyanka Chopra, too, is a producer. So, what are her thoughts on turning one herself? “I can set up a production house and get others involved and make money out of it. But there is no point in that. I want to produce films hands-on, but for that, I’m still gathering experience. Forget that, I’m still gathering experience as an actor! I’ve not mastered that yet. But, yes, I would definitely want to do something more, so I will turn to production when I’m ready,” she added.

Sanjay Dutt, who plays Afghan king, Ahmad Shah Durrani, in the upcoming historical Panipat, has not only worked on his physique for the role, but  has been training hard on maintaining it, too. Moreover, he is also making sure that he perfects the art of carrying the heavy armour. A source says that the protective shield that the actor wears in the period drama weighs about 35 kilos. “While shooting in Jaipur, Sanju would exercise in the gym before wearing the armour so that he could perform effectively. Earlier last year, when he went for the make-up and costume trials, the armour was specially designed to suit his personality,” adds our informer.
