SCOOPS: Shah Rukh Khan finds Kareena Kapoor drop-dead-gorgeous, Aditya Roy Kapur sheds muscle for Kalank and more

Shah Rukh Khan recently shot for an ad for an upcoming awards event celebrating Indian divas. A source present on the sets says that King Khan was all praises for his RA.One co-star Kareena Kapoor Khan and the way she’s handling work and motherhood.. He said, “Kareeena has been a co-actor and a friend. Her beautiful persona coupled with her drop dead gorgeous looks and unassuming nature has always made her stand out in a crowd. Her zest for work even when she was at the greatest milestone in her life — motherhood — is admirable. She has beautifully woven together two roles, and made it seem effortless.”

Recently, several Bollywood celebrities vacationed in Lake Como, Italy, where the big engagement of Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal took place. Among the several big names were two new Bollywood couples — one who’s just married and the other who’s taking the plunge soon. Sonam K Ahuja and husband Anand S Ahuja along with Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas decided to catch up on a double date. Sonam and PC have always been fond of each other and this time, they made sure their respective partners also bonded big time. 

The actor will sport a natural frame in the magnum opus Aditya Roy Kapur has always sported a lean physique. The actor is known to be particular about his diet and fitness regime. In fact, the shutterbugs regularly snap him arriving at or leaving his gym. However, that changed recently as Aditya had to stay away from his gym for his next film Kalank. 

The Aashiqui 2 actor, who stars in the film directed by Abhishek Varman, shares screen space with Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit-Nene.

Since a considerable portion of the multi-starrer is set in a bygone era, he has to have a body type that seems natural and not too muscular. Besides skipping his workout sessions, he also stopped following a strict diet so that he could achieve the look that would seem right for the magnum opus. Once the film’s shoot wraps up, the actor sure will be back to his fitness routine.

NR Pachisia and Dipankar Jojo Chaki will produce the project

Award-winning novelist and poet Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni’s best seller, The Palace Of Illusions: A Novel (2008), is all set to be adapted for the silver screen. We have learnt that producer NR Pachisia and Dipankar Jojo Chaki have acquired the rights of the book and are currently developing it with author Anand Neelkantan (Asura: Tale of the Vanquished, 2012), who is known for his fictions based on the Ramayana and Mahabharata. The Palace Of Illusions is an interpretation of the Mahabharata from Draupadi’s viewpoint — a woman living in a patriarchal world.

Chitra confirms, “I am excited as the book is perfectly suited for a spectacular on-screen adaptation. Mahabharata, as a story, is powerful, dramatic and, most importantly, relevant to our lives both as men and women. I’m sure this is going to be grand as the makers will get the best team on board for every aspect.”

Pachisia says, “We have acquired the rights, but it is too early to talk about it, given the interest around the book.” Chitra’s previous novel, The Mistress Of Spices (1997) was adapted into a film by the same name (2005) and starred Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
