Scoops: Priyanka Chopra celebrates Diwali in Mumbai, Aamir Khan's son Azad watches 'Thugs Of Hindostan'

After her bachelorette in Amsterdam, Priyanka Chopra got together with her girl gang for a ‘Pyjama Party’. The Baywatch actress shared a picture of herself with her sahelis, all dressed in white pyjamas. She also sported a sash saying ‘Bride To Be’ for a picture. Those present also included English actress Sophie Turner and the Desi Girl’s cousin, Parineeti Chopra. Post her bachelorette, the Chopra gals returned in time to celebrate Diwali with their families.

Aamir Khan is all geared up for his latest, Thugs Of Hindostan (TOH), which releases today. Besides being the first time he’s working with Amitabh Bachchan, there’s another reason that makes this Vijay Krishna Acharya directorial special for the actor. The period action drama is also the first movie his youngest son Azad has watched. 

The little boy, who turns seven next month, enjoyed the film. Though he loves watching cartoons and animated flicks, he is considered still too young to be exposed to mainstream Bollywood fare. Moreover, Aamir, too, has consciously kept him away from the spotlight. However, since there are no intimate scenes, or blood and gore in the movie, the actor decided to let this be Azad’s first brush with Hindi cinema.

With the increase in the number of celebrity jodis, the tradition of combining their names -- like Saifeena for Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan -- continues. Towards its end, 2017 became the year of Virushka, after Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma tied the knot in December. This year, we have two celeb couples uniting in matrimony — Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, whose wedding takes place on November 14-15 and Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, who are getting married a fortnight later on December 1-2. And their fans have already started calling the couples by the combination of their names. Deepika and Ranveer are DeepVeer. Interestingly, Priyanka herself has personally told her closest friends that she prefers Pr*#k, but her followers seem to have a stronger liking for Nickyanka.

Rohit Shetty, who worked with Deepika Padukone in Chennai Express (2013), is gearing up for Simmba, his upcoming film with Ranveer Singh. As Deepika and Ranveer’s wedding date nears, the ace director shared online a picture of himself with Ranveer with an emotional message. At the end of it, he wrote: “When we started the film, he was a young talented star for me. But today, as he performs his last shot for the film, I know I’ve earned a kid brother for life who is now set to embark upon a new beautiful journey with someone equally as charming and wonderful as him. I am proud to showoff today that my Simmba is marrying my Meenamma!!! I wish them all the luck for a blissfully beautiful future together. (Sic)” 

Varun Dhawan, who has a huge fan following among children — he often posts cute videos and pictures with kids — on social media, will be headlining Kids’ Choice Awards this year. He was present at the event last year, too, alongside Alia Bhatt to receive an award. This year, however, the Judwaa 2 actor will be performing at the event. Says a source, “Varun has been a constant at this awards event. Kids love him, and enjoy his performances and humour. He also loves being around kids, so it’s only apt that he headlines a show that has children at the centre of all decisions taken for the event.”
