Katrina Kaif is set to scorch the screen with Husn Parcham, her new peppy solo number from Zero, which has been choreographed by Bosco Martis. She plays Babita Kumari, an actress who reigns the hearts of the nation, in this Aanand L Rai directorial which also stars Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma and opens in cinemas on December 21. While the Ajay-Atul composition releases today, its teaser, which gives a glimpse of Kat as a diva, has already generated curiosity among viewers.

Bosco Martis, who has choreographed the number, enthuses, “Husn Parcham has all the factors of being a glamorous, entertaining and a cool desi song! I hope that the audience loves the effort that has gone into it. We’ve tried to create a modern element of this entire vibe of Husn Parcham in Aanand sir’s world. Katrina looks ravishing in this track and I’m sure she will entertain the entire country.”

Talking about collaborating with King Khan, Bosco adds, “My experience with Shah Rukh sir has been fantastic because we have always got to do the best work with him. He is so involved with every part of the process, which is a great thing for a choreographer. You have somebody who is constantly backing you and your vision.”

Here’s a sneak peek of two of those ensembles that she has worn in the song, Husn Parcham, which releases today. The Ajay-Atul composition has been choreographed by Bosco Martis.

Aditya Roy Kapur, who was last seen in OK Jaanu (2017), will flaunt a different look altogether in his next, Kalank, which is being helmed by Abhishek Varman (2 States). The actor has got leaner for the film. Says a source close to him, “Aditya, who’s otherwise known for his gym-toned physique, is required to not look chiselled for his part in Kalank. The role demanded that he should shed, so the actor stopped weight training to lose muscle. Since he has to look leaner and fitter, he has taken to other forms of exercises like running, cycling, swimming and playing football.”

ARK, as he’s fondly called, left from Mumbai earlier this week for Hyderabad and will be filming till the end of this month. Interestingly, he’s also shooting a huge action sequence. “There are a lot of hand-to-hand combat scenes as well. And Aditya has been training for them, too.”

Currently in its last leg of shooting, Kalank is one of the most anticipated releases of 2019. The Karan Johar production has an ensemble cast comprising Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit-Nene, Sonakshi Sinha and Kunal Kemmu, besides ARK.

Zee Studios’ next production venture Manikarnika — The Queen Of Jhansi stars Kangana Ranaut in a leading role and if the theatrical teaser is anything to go by, the film has been mounted on a lavish scale.

The period saga, based on the life of Rani Laxmi Bai who is known to be India’s biggest warrior queen, releases next year in January. The makers wanted the movie to look as authentic and real as possible. Hence, they did a recce for over two months and shortlisted 70 locations across six cities including Hyderabad, Mumbai, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Bikaner and Alsesar. “The team did extensive research that went into the making of this film. Not just that, over 30 sets were built for this historical. Since the war saga is set in 1857,  it was crucial for the studio to choose apt locations which not only showcase the larger-than-life scale but also resemble that era,” a source from the team informed us.

Given that looks play the most important part in an actress’ career, many follow strict diets to stay in svelte shape. Shraddha Kapoor is no exception and works hard to maintain her slim figure. However, like exceptions to most rules, the actress has a sweet tooth and can’t resist the temptation of desserts. The actress who’s shooting with Sushant Singh Rajput for Chhichhore has found a perfect partner in crime in director Nitesh Tiwari, who’s equally fond of sweet indulgences. In fact, when she heard that the writer-director, too, has a sweet tooth, she gave him and their movie’s team a mitha surprise during lunch-time recently.

Says a source, “Shraddha’s cheat meals include Indian sweets. A few days ago, she brought home-made jalebis for the entire cast and crew. Such is Shraddha and Nitesh’s bonding over mithai that their conversations often steer towards various kinds of desserts from all over the globe. They are two of a kind when it comes to binging on sweets.”

The newly-married Priyanka Chopra Jonas faces the camera for the first time today with Kareena Kapoor Khan for Koffee With Karan (KWK). While there was buzz that PCJ will make an appearance on the show with husband Nick, that isn’t the case. Says a source, “Priyanka and Kareena have shared screen space in Aitraaz (2004). They even did an ad for a cola brand when they had started out in the industry.” The two traded some remarks through Karan’s show in the past. However, now the ladies have moved on and are ready to meet for a cup of coffee with the maverick filmmaker. This sure will be an episode to watch out for.
