To escape the soaring heat in Mumbai, Kareena Kapoor Khan, along with hubby Saif Ali Khan and son Taimur, has gone abroad on a holiday. The actresses’ manager has posted pictures of them chilling in Italy. We have learnt that the Nawab and his begum, with a few friends, have taken a six-bedroom villa with a private swimming pool in Tuscany, a small town in the Ferragamo estate. A chef has also been appointed exclusively for the family.

Says a source, “The Pataudis will stay in Tuscany for six days, after which they will fly to London where Saif will start shooting for his next, Jawani Jaaneman. On June 20, Kareena will fly to Mumbai only for a day to shoot for her debut TV show Dance India Dance. She is also slated to shoot for Angrezi Medium in London
towards the end of June or July. When that begins she will juggle it with her TV show.”

Yami Gautam has plenty of reasons to celebrate. After her January release, Uri: The Surgical Strike became the biggest hit of the year so far, her 2017 film, Kaabil, co-starring Hrithik Roshan, is set to premiere in China tomorrow.

Given that this is her first release there, the actress has flown down to China with Duggu for the promotions. What’s noteworthy is that the actress has learnt Mandarin to interact with her fans and audiences during her visit there.

We hear that a few days before she left for China, Yami was brushing up her skills in the language with help from the internet. She doesn’t want to disappoint her admirers in the oriental country and worked hard on bridging the communication gap for better connectivity with them throughout her stay there.

Sonu Sood, who is known to be a fitness freak, doesn’t let anything take him away from his exercise and diet regime. The Simmba baddie recently took his family for a week-long holiday to Bangkok. And there, too, he ensured that he devoted the stipulated hours to his workout sessions.

Sonu enrolled for classes in Muay Thai and diligently attended two-hour sessions every day during his family vacay. That’s not all, he also did his kasratbaazi in the hotel gym for a couple of hours daily. At the same time, the hunky actor made sure that he didn’t cheat on his diet. However, he did indulge in generous amounts of naariyal paani throughout his holiday. Now back in town, we hear the actor continues to practise Muay Thai at least an hour daily, while also following his hour-and-
a-half training in the gym.

No 'Mental Hai Kya' vs 'Super 30': Ekta Kapoor avoids clash with Hrithik Roshan at the Box Office

The musical chairs of Bollywood releases continues. Last month (May 10), the makers of Super 30 moved the release of the Hrithik Roshan-starrer from July 26 after Ekta Kapoor announced that her production, Mental Hai Kya, starring Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao would open in cinemas on the same date. Keeping in mind the old friendship between her father Jeetendra and Rakesh Roshan, Ekta did her best to ensure that the clash (when Super 30 was also releasing on the same day) didn’t get personal between the lead stars of the two films.

On May 25, the producers of Super 30 announced that the film would come to theatres on July 12. Incidentally, that date was already taken by Sidharth Malhotra-Parineeti Chopra-starrer Jabariya Jodi, also backed by Ekta. Considering that previously, it was Hrithik who didn’t want a clash and was instrumental in moving his film’s release, it looked like this time it was Ekta’s turn to reciprocate. Yesterday, the feisty producer deferred her production’s release by a week. The Sidharth-Parineeti romcom on groom-kidnapping will now come to cinemas on August 2.

It is said that no star’s popularity can be complete without a crazy fan incident. Kartik Aaryan, who is riding high post the success of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018) and Luka Chuppi (2019), got a taste of this belief when he recently visited a mall for an event of an apparel brand he endorses. Among the many who thronged the venue for a dekko of the young star, was a fan who made his idol feel extra special. We hear the admirer bought 600 shirts of the brand and even managed to meet the actor, who was surprised by this gesture.

“Kartik had not expected or anticipated that someone would buy such a huge number of shirts just because he endorses the brand,” says our source, adding, “While this incident also symbolises Kartik’s brand equity, what is also interesting to note is that the fan was also sporting his idol’s messy cropped hairstyle, too. That was extremely special for Kartik.” The actor will be seen next in Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal sequel and the remake of BR Films’ Pati Patni Aur Woh (1979).

Sharmin Segal, who makes her debut with Malaal, had to perform a stunt while riding pillion with Meezaan (Jaaved Jafferi’s son) who also begins his acting career with this Sanjay Leela Bhansali production. However, a few days before shooting this action scene, she had hurt her back. Sharmin didn’t let the severe pain deter her and shot the sequence as scheduled.

“Since the team was filming on a tight schedule, Sharmin didn’t want to cause inconvenience to the crew and decided to go ahead with the shoot,” says our source, adding, “Also, having been an assistant director on her uncle Sanjay’s films like Mary Kom and Bajirao Mastani, she knows that actors have to do what it takes when the cameras roll. She managed the scene beautifully, despite the discomfort and impressed everyone on the sets with her dedication and professionalism.”
Considering that she has trained under SLB, she understands the demands of her job. Not to forget, the filmmaker has himself prepared her for her career ahead, so she didn’t allow herself to be dissuaded or distracted by her injury while shooting the movie.

Vijay Verma, who earned acclaim for his portrayal of Moeen Bhai, a good Samaritan with dark shades to his character, in Gully Boy, will soon be seen in Super 30 next. The FTII graduate, who has previously played interesting roles in films like Monsoon Shootout and Pink amongst others, has a cameo in the upcoming Hrithik Roshan starrer.

When offered the role in the film based on mathematics professor Anand Kumar, he was ecstatic to be a part of it because the cast comprised Hrithik and Pankaj Tripathi, both of whose work he has been following for years. While he can’t reveal anything about his character, Vijay says, “All I can tell you, for now, is that when I heard the script of Super 30 and about Anand sir, who literally changed so many lives, I knew I had to be a part of this story.”

9. Shraddha Kapoor’s jet-setting schedule

Shraddha Kapoor is currently in Dubai coping with the sweltering heat. Unmindful of the rising mercury levels, the light-eyed beauty and her energetic co-star, Varun Dhawan, are stationed in the UAE, shooting for their upcoming dance flick, Street Dancer. The last month-and-a-half has been absolutely frenetic for the Stree actress who was earlier stationed in Hyderabad to give finishing touches to her Independence Day-release Saaho.

Practically living out of a suitcase, she boarded a flight from Hyderabad to Dubai. And, post her dance-movie schedule, Shraddha is expected to head straight to Turkey for a brand shoot.

Her schedule is so tight that the Maharashtrian mulgi has had no time to even nurse a neck spasm.  Concerned about her health condition, director Remo D’souza and his team did suggest that the actress rest it out and wait for her neck to heal.

However, SK told Remo that she would continue shooting without a break. So, they did the next best thing. They got a physiotherapist on board to ease her
discomfort and allow her to continue shooting without wasting time.

Shraddha says, “This schedule of Street Dancer has been difficult for me as I have developed a neck spasm and have been dancing through it. I am really thankful to Remo sir and the team for having a physiotherapist for me constantly on the set to keep releasing the muscle stress, so I could keep going. I’m having an absolute blast shooting for the film and have tons of memories to take forward with me.”

Now that is what you call a dedicated actress. Knowing time is of essence, Shraddha has made the required adjustments.
