Mission Mangal has been making news, first for its announcement by leading man Akshay Kumar who is also producing it along with his Pad Man director R Balki, and then for getting into a legal tussle with US-based filmmaker Radha Bharadwaj claiming to own the copyrights to the story. However, it was After Hrs that first reported about the movie.
We broke the news that Akshay and Balki’s next collaboration is inspired by India’s 2014 Mars Orbiter Mission aka Mangalyaan. We had also told you that the film was being called Mahila Mandal before Mission Mangal was announced. Says our source who shared the news with us, “Since most of the principal cast is women essaying characters, who played a pivotal role in the mission, the movie was called Mahila Mandal. But the team felt that this title could give a different meaning, a different perception of the film to the audiences. So, after a considerable discussion, they decided to be direct to the point and call it Mission Mangal, instead.”
For the first time Bollywood couple Ajay Devgn and Kajol are appearing together on Koffee With Karan, something which their fans are eagerly waiting to see. A promo clip of the upcoming episode shows that it is both, interesting and fun. To begin with, the Singham star has made some candid revelations about his fiery wife.
When Karan asks him about uploading pictures on social media, Ajay says, “The problem is not clicking the pictures, the problem is they (referring to Kajol) are sitting and correcting the pictures for three hours so that they can post it. She has never done this in her life par abhi budhape mein aake I don’t know...” Not to be outdone, the Helicopter Eela actress gives it back to him saying, “Tumhara budhapa hoga, mera toh nahi hai!”
The suave host then asks Ajay whether he listens and she talks, to which he replies, “No, she talks and I don’t listen.” That’s not all! To a question about the one lie that every actor from the film fraternity tells, Ajay quickly says, “I love my wife,” completely zapping his better-half. When Kajol looks at him with a shocked expression, he tries to pacify her saying, “I am talking about other actors, not me.” Well, one can’t wait to catch this playful and chatpata banter between the superstar actor-couple.
...May or may not present himself for direct media interactions for Kedarnath
Sushant Singh Rajput has hurt his ankle. And word in the street is that he may or may not be present for media interviews to promote Kedarnath because of his injury. Of course, the actor will accommodate a few television shows promoting the Abhishek Kapoor directorial, but that would be the extent of his participation. It so happens that despite his injury SSR has been simultaneously shooting for producer Sajid Nadiadwala’s Chhichhore. “It is a minor injury, but Sushant is definitely in a lot of pain. Inspite of that, he has asked the team of Chhichhore to continue shooting. He has been filming nights for the college-based drama and didn’t want to delay it.”
Right after the release of Kedarnath Sushant will zoom off to Paris to finish his other project — Kizie aur Manny. The film landed in troubled water after its director Mukesh Chhabra was accused of sexual misconduct in the #MeToo movement. But the filmmaker cum casting director has got a clean chit from everyone concerned and will complete the remaining portions of his directorial debut. “The team has to shoot a romantic song in Paris. It is a nine-day schedule and post this they would have wrapped up the entire movie.”
