There has been a lot of speculation about the second season of Sacred Games on whether it is happening or not after sexual harassment allegations against filmmaker Vikas Bahl and writer Varun Grover came to light.

Though Vikas is not involved in the series, his erstwhile partners Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane had directed the first season and their company Phantom Films (now dissolved) had also co-produced it.

There were also reports about Varun not being a part of the show anymore and that the shoot was pushed from November to December. But sources say that it will go on floors only in March. “All the actors, who had blocked their dates for the shoot in November, have now taken up different projects. Though there has been no official communication on when the shoot will begin, there is talk that it will be in March next year.” When we had asked Netflix about Varun being ousted and the show being pushed to December, they had said, “At this time we are evaluating options on the path forward.”

Today, the court will continue its hearing on the Vikas Bahl v/s Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwani defamation case with regards to the #MeToo Movement.

Various theories on what actually affected the relationship between the partners are still being circulated. One hears from a reliable source that one of the girls, who is embroiled in this controversy, happened to be someone who had something (wilfully) to do with Anurag and Vikas. This apparently didn’t go down well with Anurag, who is said to have allegedly accused Vikas of breaking the “Bro-Code”. Of course, eventually all their personal animosity ended up getting entangled in the #MeToo Movement.

Ali Fazal, who has been playing lovable characters in films like Fukrey, Fukrey Returns and Victoria & Abdul, is turning a gangster in the web series Mirzapur. He not only gained 12 kilos to play the strong and mean character, but also worked on his accent and body language to keep his role as real as possible. As part of the prep, the actor watched all sorts of documentaries available on gangsters.

Says our source, “Ali also roamed undercover in the bylanes of Mumbai to follow such men to understand their daily lives and pick up nuances from there. He walked around in Chor Bazaar and Dongri to learn certain words, how they speak and mix it with a Lucknowi twang. He read Hindi and English books too written on criminals, which explain certain traits in their character.” The series is shot in Lucknow and Mumbai.
