Scoops: Akshay Kumar-Twinkle Khanna's short vacay, Karisma Kapoor gets trolled for sister Kareena Kapoor Khan’s pout

Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna are one of those Bollywood power couples, who are known for giving us relationship goals. Despite busy schedules, they ensure that they maintain a good work-life balance. Moreover, they also find innovative ways of wishing each other via their social media accounts on special occasions. To commemorate their 18th wedding anniversary, which is today, the glamorous husband-wife duo plans to take off on a short vacation. The getaway will be a welcome break for Akshay, who has four releases this year (Kesari, Good News, Mission Mangal and Housefull 4) and Twinkle, who is busy with her duties as a columnist and an author.

Ranveer Singh has moved on from the roaring success of Simmba to begin practice for his next big venture — the Kapil Dev biopic titled ’83. The film is all set to roll out around mid-2019 and will hit the screens next year. Apart from Ranveer’s training and prep, the news that is doing the rounds is that Deepika Padukone will star in the same, essaying the role of the ace cricketer’s wife. But we can now tell you that all of it is untrue. “It’s an extremely small part and the main heroine will hardly have a 10-minute role in the film. Deepika is definitely not doing it and the makers are already in talks with someone else. Once they work out the modalities, the announcement will be made.” Meanwhile, DP is beginning shoot for Meghna Gulza’s Chhapaak.

Two years ago, Sonam K Ahuja became the face of a leading Swiss luxury watch brand. She kick-started her partnership with it by attending a gathering of professionals in the watchmaking segment in Geneva, which saw prestigious guests and personalities from across the world in attendance.

The actress recently returned to the Swiss city to commemorate the timepiece’s 150th anniversary. She was joined by the brand’s other endorsers including Tunisian actress Hend Sabry, Lebanese TV presenter Raya Abirached, Czech model and actress Karolina Kurkova, celebrities such as Rosamund Pike, Ronan Keating, Adriana Lima and Bradley Cooper.

The Veere Di Wedding actress later travelled to Dubai for a special gala dinner at the Burj Khalifa.

Kangana Ranaut, who is busy promoting her upcoming period drama Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi, has also started training in kabaddi for her next, the sports drama Panga. The actress and her co-stars will train for one month to master their moves in the game before they start the second shoot schedule at the end of February. Says a source, “National level kabaddi players have been roped in to train the actors because in the second schedule they will be shooting the matches. Kangana had started training, but since Manikarnika is up for release, she has to give her time for its promotions. Once the actress gets free from her commitments she will get back to the training.” 

Given the renewed necessity in the safety of women in the wake of the #MeToo Movement, Kartik Aaryan is extending his support to the cause. The Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety actor will flag off a nationwide campaign challenging the violence against girls and women, next week.

Kartik says, “The Family Planning Association of India in its 70-year-old journey towards women’s empowerment has launched a campaign towards violence against them. It’s time for all of us to stand up against such violence and give care and support to survivors. I urge everyone, men and women, to lend their support to #StreeHinsaMuktBharatAbhiyaan campaign and free our nation from violence against women.”

It was time for the sisters to share the couch on Kareena Kapoor Khan’s radio show What Women Want when Karisma Kapoor came visiting. The episode, which revolved around the issue of older heroines and their fight to stay relevant in today’s day and age, had the two Kapoor women talking about several topics. But it was when Bebo asked Lolo what she gets trolled for the most on social media that left everyone in splits. She immediately responded, “It’s really funny but I get trolled the most for you (Kareena). They keep telling me to ask you not to pout so much.” The Veere Di Wedding actress, too, had an answer ready. “My pout is almost like a hashtag,” she said while Karisma chipped in, “Yes, it’s a mixed bag actually. Many of them also say that they love your pout. Along with that, if I haven’t posted a picture in a long time with you or with the family, they request me to do that. It’s a wonderful relationship also.”
