Ram Setu, Selfiee, OMG 2: Akshay Kumar's list of upcoming films after 3 successive flops

After three flops, Akshay Kumar's search for success continues with the list of films including Ram Setu, OMG 2, and Selfiee among others.

After giving the highest-grossing Hindi film Sooryavanshi last year, Akshay Kumar is going through a lean phase with three back-to-back failures in the form of Bachchhan Paandey, Samrat Prithviraj, and Raksha Bandhan. In this action-adventure drama film, Akshay Kumar plays an archeologist finding the origins of Ram Setu described in Ramayana. Slated to release in cinemas on October 24 coinciding with the festival of Diwali, Ram Setu also stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha.

OMG 2 – Oh My God! 2 is the spiritual sequel of the 2012 comedy-drama film in which Akshay Kumar played Lord Krishna. In the upcoming film also starring Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam, the superstar plays Lord Shiva. The film will be released next year.

Scheduled to release on February 24 next year, Akshay Kumar unites with Emraan Hashmi in the comedy-drama Selfiee also starring Nushrratt Bharuccha and Diana Penty. It is the remake of Malayalam 2019 film Driving License featuring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu.

Before the release of the above-listed films, the audience will most probably see Akshay in Kathputli as the film will reportedly stream on Disney+ Hotstar next month. Earlier titled Mission Cinderella, it is an official remake of the 2018 Tamil psychological thriller film Ratsasan.

Akshay Kumar's first look was recently revealed from the upcoming film tentatively titled Capsule Gill. The actor portrays real-life hero Jaswant Gill who saved many lives in a West Bengal coal mine disaster. Parineeti Chopra has reportedly been cast as the leading lady.

Akshay Kumar will also be seen in the Hindi remake of the 2020 Tamil language drama Soorarai Pottru. It won five National Awards recently including one for Best Feature Film. Suriya, who will be seen playing a cameo in the yet untitled film, also won the National Award for Best Actor.
