Prateik Babbar tied the knot with his long-time friend Sanya Sagar in an intimate ceremony on 22nd January. The wedding celebrations continued on 23d January as well. While pictures from their haldi and mehendi ceremony made rounds of the internet yesterday, we now get to see the first photos of how this couple looked at their wedding.
Prateik and Sanya got married in a Maharashtrian-styled wedding and were a happy couple on the mandap. Even though the two have been friends for over a decade, they only dated for two years before taking the plunge. Prateik had proposed to Sanya in Goa.
Post two years filled with back-to-back wedding (Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma in 2017, Sonam Kapoor-Anand Ahuja, Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra-Nick Jonas in 2018), Prateik and Sanya are the first to welcome 2019 with a wedding.
Prateik got engaged to Sanya, the daughter of BSP leader Pawan Sagar, in January 2018. Their wedding saw the likes of BSP chief Mayawati, SP President Akhilesh Yadav and many other politicians. No Bollywood celebrity was spotted at the close-knit wedding.

1. A family affair

Prateik Babbar kept his wedding a close-knit family affair. He however does plan to host a reception for his friends in Bollywood on 25th January. They tied the knot in Lucknow and the reception will be held in Mumbai.

Prateik’s half-brother Aarya Babbar, who also got married a few years back, had told Bombay Times, “I am very happy for Prateik and Sanya. They complement each other in the best way possible. They are similar as people and the best thing about their relationship is that they are great friends.”

In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Prateik had told, “Sanya and I, along with our families, decided that something as pure as love should be solemnised on an auspicious day and what better day than Basant Panchami. She’s the best partner I could have asked for. It didn’t take me long to figure out that she was the one for me. I know it sounds cliched, but I can’t stop counting my blessings and thanking God for all the good that is happening in life.”
4. She is happy and gorgeous

Sanya Sagar is a 27-year-old writer-director-editor who has made a significant contribution as a production assistant on the Danny Huston-starrer, 'The Last Photograph', and was also the production runner on Salma Hayek's short film, 11th Hour.
5. With those who matter

The wedding festivities began on Tuesday with a haldi and mehendi ceremony at Sanya's residence in Lucknow. The celebrations continued till late evening since the couple also hosted their sangeet ceremony on the same day.
6. Kids are the cutest

Sanya's Gomti Nagar residence was beautifully decorated with fairy lights and marigold flowers. It was also heavily protected and there were moments when the guarded pulled out an unwanted cameraperson.
