PICS| Shah Rukh Khan inspires fan to help flood-ridden Kerala, Disha Patani's love for gymnastics

Being a superstar and a national icon, Shah Rukh Khan is known to lead by example. The actor, reportedly donated Rs 21 lakh through his foundation, to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the flood affected and consequently inspired his followers to support this cause too. 

King Khan, as he’s also called, has a number of fan clubs in various parts of the country. One of them, which has a huge membership, got its members to collectively contribute a big sum towards relief work in the South Indian state. 

Fans affiliated to the superstar’s fan clubs have always followed their idol’s footsteps every time he has stepped forward to extend his support to a cause. Like him, they, too, believe in doing their bit for the welfare of the society at large. 

While their profession often gives actors a chance to do something new, they seldom get to do something they personally like. That’s one reason why Disha Patani is excited to have signed up for Salman Khan’s next, Bharat, because it also gives her an opportunity to devote time to mixed martial arts (MMA) and gymnastics.

The Baaghi 2 actress, who plays a trapeze artiste in the Ali Abbas Zafar directorial, had, only a few months ago, started learning MMA and gymnastics to be fit and flexible. 

Disha, who’s also fond of dance, apart from the two exercise forms, is said to be completely enjoying her training in gymnastics and MMA. And given the challenge her character has in store for her, she is all the more excited about showcasing her new skills in the movie.

Daisy Shah turns a year older today and she decided to spend a quiet birthday this time around. “I will be celebrating the day with my family as always,” she says, adding, “Since it’s my mom’s birthday, too, we will go out for a quiet family dinner.” Yesterday, the Race 3 actress also visited an NGO, where she distributed gifts and enjoyed some time with the kids there.

Dharmendra, who recently visited the sets of Dus Ka Dum, relived his struggling days while comparing it to Bollywood at present where an entry is fairly easy. The actor used to work in farm fields and ride on his cycle for 100 kilometres every day to reach his destination. Salman Khan, who follows the veteran actor closely, commented, “Dharamji is my role model, I follow his acting skill and that is what inspires me to be a better actor”. 

Talking about his struggle the veteran actor said, “There was a time when a prestigious awards ceremony did not provide me first class tickets and I had to travel in the third class compartment of a train. They never expected me to arrive and they left after picking up the artists from the first class. After reaching the office, with a short crew-cut hair, the director compared me with James Dean and that’s when my career kick started.” 

This debutant director is perpetually lying. The last time he courted trouble, his misdeeds angered a Bollywood actor. He vehemently denied getting a ‘pasting’ even though the tamasha unfolded in front of a full blown audience. Recently, the set of his movie became the hot-bed of controversy as certain things got out of hand. 

Things heated up so much that the production house now has a representative present on set to ensure safe proceedings. However, this naya nirdeshak, is forever in denial mode. He took to social media to claim that his shooting is moving on very smoothly. Of course, it’s another thing that he doesn’t have the reputation of being satyavaadi Raja Harishchandra.
