#NotMyDeepika trends on Twitter post Padukone's meeting with accused Luv Ranjan, all statements made by her on #MeToo
A trend #NotMyDeepika has taken over Twitter once Bollywood actress met Luv Ranjan recently
Deepika Padukone was spotted catching up with good friend Ranbir Kapoor and filmmaker Luv Ranjan at the latter's house in Mumbai. Although nothing has been confirmed yet, news reports stated that she has been finalized for Luv's film with Ranbir and Ajay Devgn.
Luv Ranjan however has been accused under #MeToo. A 24-year-old actress accused him of assault as she told Mid-Day, "Luv asked me to strip down to my bra and panties. He said he wanted to see my body so he could check if I needed to lose weight. He said they were not recording anything and the cinematographer would also leave the room, so I needn't worry. After that, it all gets blurry. My heart was pounding and I rushed out saying I had to leave, and wasn't comfortable with it." The filmmaker had challenged the accusations while telling the daily, "It's absurd. It's so absurd that I don't know what to say except that I deny it. I don't know how to react to an anonymous allegation beyond this and am willing to face any legitimate inquiry."
Luv however continues making movies and has produced Ajay Devgn-Rakul Preet Singh-Tabu starrer De De Pyaar De, which was one of the longest-running movies, at least this year, with eight weeks at the Box Office. The latest reports of Deepika Padukone being part of his film left her fans stunned after assuming that the actress would agree to work with #MeToo accused, especially since not only Deepika but even her NGO Live Love Laugh has taken strong stands over the cause.
Here's taking a look back at all the statements made by Deepika on #MeToo (a few even shared by fans), which have left her fans wondering to such an extent that they started trending #NotMyDeepika:
