Inside photos of Saif Ali Khan-Kareena Kapoor Khan's Rs 800 crore Pataudi Palace where 'Veer-Zaara' was shot
Taimur Ali Khan's first birthday was celebrated at the Pataudi Palace which has about 150 rooms.
We have often seen the Pataudi family spending their time at the Pataudi Palace royally. The palace is a heritage property and has been seen in several films too including Hollywood. It is being reported that Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan's palace is valued at Rs 800 crore and has about 150 rooms.
However, during an interaction with Mumbai Mirror, when Saif was asked about it, he stated, "It’s impossible to put a value to it in monetary terms because emotionally, the property is priceless. My grandparents and father are buried there, there are security, serenity and a spiritual connection there for me. The land goes back by a few centuries, but the palace that my grandfather built for my grandmother is around a hundred years old. He was the ruling monarch then, but since then, privy purses and titles have been abolished."
Saif also cleared that he did not buy back the palace but practically owned it. The actor explained, "So when I was offered the chance, I wrapped up the lease that was left, paid up and took possession of our home again. It was a fair financial arrangement and contrary to reports, I did not have to buy it back because I already owned it. In my teenage years, I was the black sheep, so, it feels nice now to do this for the family and our heritage."
