India@75: Aamir Khan to Kangana Ranaut- Actors who played freedom fighters in patriotic films

‘Mangal Pandey: The Rising’ is a biographical drama film based on the story of Mangal Pandey, an Indian soldier who is credited with helping to launch the 1857 Indian insurrection.
Ketan Mehta directed it, Bobby Bedi produced it, and Farrukh Dhondy wrote the screenplay. Aamir Khan plays the major role, marking his return to acting after the success of ‘Dil Chahta Hai.'

Rajkumar Santoshi directed the Hindi-language biographical period film 'The Legend of Bhagat Singh' in 2002. The film is about Bhagat Singh, a freedom fighter who battled alongside other members of the Hindustan Republic Association for Indian independence. It stars Ajay Devgan, Sushant Singh, D. Santosh, and Akhilendra Mishra as the title characters, with Sushant Singh, D. Santosh, and Akhilendra Mishra as the other main characters. Supporting parts are played by Raj Babbar, Farida Jalal, and Amrita Rao.

Sushant Singh plays Rajguru in the film ‘The Legend of Bhagat Singh’. The film follows Bhagat's life from his childhood, when he witnessed the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, to the day he was hanged to death on March 23, 1931.

The film ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi' is based on the life of Rani Lakshmi Bai of Jhansi and was released in India in 2019. It was directed by Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi and Kangana Ranaut and produced by Zee Studios, Kamal Jain, and Nishant Pitti from a script by K. V. Vijayendra Prasad. Ranaut plays the title role in the film. 1931.

‘Bose: Dead/Alive' is a streaming television miniseries based on activist Anuj Dhar's 2012 book India's Biggest Cover-up, which premiered on ALTBalaji on November 20, 2017, IST. Rajkummar Rao plays Subhash Chandra Bose, with Naveen Kasturia as Darbari Lal, Edward Sonnenblick as Stanley Allen, and Anna Ador as Emilie Schenkl in supporting parts.
