In Pics: No heroine in Arjun Kapoor's film, Soni Razdan stands by Masaba Gupta, Aayush visits Salman's childhood home

Alia Bhatt, who joins Ayan Mukerji and Ranbir Kapoor for the next schedule of Brahmastra in Bulgaria, made a stopover in London. A source said that the petite actress, who is ruling the ranks in Hindi cinema, was in the UK capital yesterday to spend time with her mother, Soni Razdan. Ranbir was also expected to fly to Bulgaria via London, but he flew out of Mumbai a day later.

Soni Razdan, who is Neena Gupta’s bestie, was sad when she heard the news that her friend’s daughter Masaba Gupta was separating from her producer husband Madhu Mantena after three years of marriage. In her post to Masaba, a couple of days ago, Soni said, “Love you Masaba. Love Madhu too. I’m praying you both find your places in each other’s lives. And I’m praying  that whatever the outcome you both find what you need and want. Till then I admire your courage and your honesty. Armed with that I feel you can’t go far wrong (sic).” 

One can see Soni is genuinely concerned about Masaba, a girl who she thinks of as her own daughter.

Arjun Kapoor recently zoomed off to Nepal for India’s Most Wanted. And a source present on the sets tells us, “It’s an Arjun show all the way. He has already shot for a few portions, some of them being okayed in a single take. Director Rajkumar Gupta is extremely happy with the way he’s envisaged the role.”

But unlike other films, the actor won’t have a leading lady here. “Raj didn’t want to divert anyone’s attention from the storytelling and his narrative is gritty, hard-hitting and didn’t require a romantic angle at all.”

That’s not all. The director was originally planning the film with Sidharth Malhotra. Back then, it was a hero versus villain story, with the main antagonist having a proper role. But now, that part too has been reduced. “The villain’s role is still as menacing, but the length has been shortened a bit.”

Aayush Sharma and Warina Hussain, who are making their debut in Salman Khan’s production LoveRatri have been visiting different cities to promote their film. They will now be going to Indore, which is Salman’s hometown. And while there, the two actors will be visiting Salman’s childhood home Palasia and interacting with the relatives of the superstar. They will also launch the film’s third song, Tera Hua, in a college.   

The movie is a love story in which Aayush plays a Gujarati chhokra and Warina is his love interest. It is set against the backdrop of the Navratri festival and is shot in London and the outskirts of Gujarat.
