The film is about two guys who want to rent an apartment and have to live with a beautiful girl, but have to pretend to be gay. The trio becomes friends, but the boys try hard to not ruin their friendship over the fact that both now have feelings for the girl.

Student of the Year was the grand Bollywood debut of industry heavyweights Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt. The film revolves around two college boys who start off as rivals and become friends when competing for ‘Student of the Year’, only to have it erupt when one develops a crush on the other’s girlfriend. The movie features two best friends who go through life trying to set each other up with someone or the other. Three best friends, played by Sushant Singh Rajput, Rajkummar Rao and Amit Sadh, start a sporting goods business together, where Sushant’s character takes a special interest in a young Muslim cricketer. Problems begin when Amit’s parents are killed in an act of communal violence, instilling a hatred towards Muslims and Rajkummar falls in love with Sushant’s sister. Confusing, yes. How on earth will they ever resolve this? Watching the movie solves everything.
