In Pics: Ace designers sketch Priyanka Chopra-Nick Jonas's wedding looks

Nick is wearing a signature RR achkan delicately and subtly embellished with hand embroidery done as an engineered placement. An inner kurta with a contrasting pink pocket square accentuates the ensemble. Customised jewel buttons and cuff links would add to the rich appeal and could be an added way of styling this look.
PC wears an old rose pink lehenga with embroidery sprinkled all-over emulating a dreamlike perception. The lightness and flowy use of material adds to the grandeur of this ensemble.

The lehenga for Priyanka’s mehendi is in the signature Payal Singhal embroidery from our Mu’asir collection featuring folk floral and abstract motifs with an embellished top. Nick’s outfit features a similar embroidery in a bandi paired with a kurta and churidaar. The two looks complement each other — the overall vibe is lightness and movement.

We have used a light blue shade in Chanderi silk fabric with lot of flare to have natural fall of fabric without any can-can. It’s embellished with zardozi work in gold and dabka embroidery. The overall inspiration is derived from the wheat motif, which is the metaphor for prosperity and new growth. As PC is stepping into a new chapter of her life, I felt the wheat imagery was the best way to complement her.

We all know her love for extravagance and she believes in everything larger than life. Therefore, I have created this rani pink and sindoori red lehenga with a trail for her (I feel Rani pink looks great on her), intricately embroidered with resham, dull gold kasab and tiny mirrors. The jewellery consists of polki and emerald green (all being vintage). The hair is neat and clean. All in all a modern-yet-traditional Indian bride.

5.Surily Goel

PC’s ensemble reflects the hues of Rajasthan. Since there will be international crowd present at the wedding, I wanted to give them the flavours of India. The lehenga has colour-blocked borders and I have highlighted it with shells and coins. The tasselled choli adds to the glam appeal. The floor-length cape has mirrors, beads and tone-on-tone thread embroidery. While the bottom is flared, the top is fitted since PC’s amazing part is her torso.

Our aesthetic caters to progressive men, who appreciate the understated and sophisticated appeal of our signature elements. Keeping this mind, I have paired a vanilla chevron geometric sherwani with an attached bandi, a vanilla silk kurta and slim breech pants. We have added the wedding date in Roman numbers hidden in the embroidery at the back of the sherwani to make the outfit as special as the occasion. Completing the look with the patent wine cut out oxfords, Pea cap safa in wine with grey embroidery and a wine stole with metalwork detailing.

Priyanka’s outfit

An elaborate intricate embroidered lehenga, worn with a modern wrap organza blouse is what we have designed for her. The beautiful techniques of zardozi and pita work have been used, to bring Indian crafts on the forefront. A romantic old rose ombre colour palette would be ideal for her gorgeous sun-kissed skin.

Nick’s outfit

For Nick, we have designed a classic off white and gold sherwani with delicate embroidery. The embellishments are subtle and modern, yet intricate and traditional. Keeping it crisp and simple is the idea behind his look.

A monochrome ensemble comprised of an Indian styled long bandhgala and a printed kurta and churidar. The bandhgala has white ‘pick stitching’ to give an authentic touch and chevron print brings in the modern element. Much like the pair itself the details of this outfit are a convergence of the west and India.

We would love to see her adorn a blush pink outfit (as illustrated) instead of picking the cliché red bridal lehenga for her wedding ceremonies. Against the splendid backdrop of Umaid Bhawan Palace, we can almost picture this dusky beauty in our powder pink lehenga complete with silver and champagne dori embroidery at the body, and flower motifs with patra work finished in rose gold and silver at the border. Geometric patterns embroidered on the blouse, along with a dainty chiffon dupatta draped across would complement the lehenga. Also, an embellished belt would help accentuate the overall look.

I see PC as a true blue modern Maharani.... global style meets Indian roots. I see her as a bride who wants to respect tradition but also have fun dancing away at her wedding party. I am celebrating the best of  Indian craftsmanship with a silhouette that bridges tradition with a contemporary twist. An elegant off shoulder blouse to show off her collarbones and the lightweight yet decorative lehenga that has the ‘Garden of Eden’ applique celebrates the joy of getting married. Against the  romantic backdrop of the winter sun in Rajasthan, the gold rose lehenga with rose gold  applique will be a stunning choice.

We have designed a lehenga with pherozah stone and chain pearl and zardozi embroidery keeping true to our current bridal and seasonal offerings and borrowing from the characteristics of her wedding destination. We have picked a softer pink instead of red for Priyanka as it has a younger and softer vibe as opposed of the versions of bridal outfits we have seen her adorn on the silver screen. We have played it traditional as Priyanka has always seemed like someone that values her traditions.

We opted for a worsted wool ensemble in an imperial purple for a good drape and for a colour befitting a grand occasion at the Umaid Bhavan Palace. We decided to opt for mix of minimal tuck detailing along with hints of tonal geometric hand embroidered on the overlap for a subtle indo-fusion sensibility, and help elongate his torso for the big day.
