We all have best friends in pets, which is exactly the case with a few Bollywood movies too. These movies proved that your best friend does not have to be a human, but can be a loyal pet, and that pet does not limit itself to a cat or a dog.

Remember the adorable Tuffy from Hum Aapke Hain Koun? Or the guide in monkey that appeared in Salman Khan's movie Bajrangi Bhaijaan? These movies, and more, prove that BFFs could literally be anyone, and the unusual friends could sometimes be better than human friends too.

Here, take a look at what we're talking about:

From being an umpire to helping two lovers express their feelings to each other, Tuffy from Salman Khan-Madhuri Dixit Nene starrer Hum Aapke Hain Koun was the most adorable pet dog ever!

Salman Khan respected monkeys in Bajrangi Bhaijaan. He prayed to them, fed them, and when the time came, a monkey helped Bajrangi understand his goal.

Who can forget the cute relation between Rajesh Khanna and the elephant in Haathi Mere Saathi? The more recent example of cute friendship between a man and elephant was in Vidyut Jammwal starrer Junglee.

Hema Malini aka Basanti's pet horse Dhanno was loyal, obedient and an important part of her life. It thus is no wonder that Dhanno's mention is there in one of the most iconic dialogues from the epic movie.

Kabootar was the messenger between Bhagyashree and Salman Khan in Maine Pyar Kiya. The movie had a song 'Kabootar Ja Ja Ja' dedicated solely to the purpose of the pigeon.
