How Sonu Sood turned 'Messiah': From starting scholarship programme for IAS aspirants to launching app for jobs

Here's a list of how Sonu Sood turned into a 'real-life hero' when the coronavirus pandemic gripped the nation.

After Sonu Sood announced help to farmer Nageswara Rao`s family, a tractor was handed over to Rao by the MD of Gayatri agency. Before that, after watching a video of two girls tilling a farm, Sonu stepped forward with the promise to provide a tractor to their family, which was forced to resort to the extreme step after suffering a severe blow during the coronavirus pandemic. 

Sonu Sood had also donated 25,000 face shields to Mumbai Police so they could fight the deadly virus with more precaution. Sharing the news, Anil Deshmukh had also posted a picture with Sonu and thanked the actor for his generous contribution. 

Sonu Sood has recently launched 'Overseas Employment App' to help migrant laborers explore employment opportunities in various sectors across the country. With the help of this mobile app, the information related to finding a job will be easily available to the migrant workers who lost their jobs amid the COVID-19 pandemic. 

A user had approached Sonu Sood who was thrown out of her house after her husband's demise. The actor had responded that he would provide shelter to the family, who were then sleeping on the footpath. Sonu had promised to provide shelter for the small kids within a day's time.

Actor Anupam Shyam was admitted to the ICU recently and is seeking financial aid for his treatment. He has been undergoing dialysis at Apex Kidney Care in the north Mumbai suburb of Malad. On Wednesday, Sonu Sood quoted a tweet in which they urged people to provide financial aid to the veteran actor. Sood's tweet read as "In touch with them". 

Sonu Sood will feature as the first guest in television's most popular 'The Kapil Sharma Show' as it comes back with fresh episodes for audiences after a long gap due to the coronavirus lockdown. 

Sonu Sood has come up with a scholarship program called Prof. Saroj Sood scholarships to support IAS aspirants to fulfill their dreams and reach their goals. Under the program, scholarships will be available to students for online and on-campus courses. Taking to Twitter, the actor-philanthropist shared, "October 13; 13 years since My Mother passed. She left behind a legacy of Education. On her anniversary today, I pledge to support IAS aspirants to reach their goals thru Prof Saroj Sood Scholarships. Seeking blessings Miss u maa. @scholify_me."
