Happy Birthday Kartik Aaryan: From 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' to 'Dostana 2'; proof actor is 'King of Sequels'

On the occasion of Kartik Aaryan's birthday, let's take a look at the movies he starred which have been sequels to hits.

Charming actor Kartik Aaryan is celebrating his birthday today and has turned 29. The actor has been a part of Bollywood for almost a decade but has been starring in a series of films since last year. Kartik made his Bollywood debut in the year 2011 with the film Pyaar Ka Punchnama and after a couple of flops, he starred in his sequel Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2. However, the actor did not get deserved recognition until his 2018 blockbuster Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety

Soon after that, there was no turning back for Kartik. He has been signed by several leading filmmakers of Bollywood and his last outing Luka Chuppi which released this year was also a hit. Currently, he is gearing up for the release of his upcoming comedy film, Pati Patni Aur Woh which is releasing on December 6, 2019. 

Interestingly, his forthcoming films are a sequel to earlier hits of Bollywood. Let's take a look at them in detail:

Kartik Aaryan started off by being a part of the sequel of his own film Pyaar Ka Punchnama which was released in 2011. In Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 released in 2015, the actor was once again loved for his charm and his much-awaited monologue won hearts of the masses.

Kartik starred in a sequel to Ajay Devgn, Konkona Sensharma and Paresh Rawal starrer Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge? which was released in 2010. The sequel titled Guest iin London released in 2017 had Kriti Kharbanda, Paresh Rawal and Tanvi Azmi in the lead roles along with Kartik and was an utter flop.

Kartik's forthcoming film is Imtiaz Ali's directorial tentatively titled Aaj Kal in which he is paired opposite Sara Ali Khan. The film is touted to be the sequel to Imtiaz's 2009 hit film Love Aaj Kal which had Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles. Aaj Kal is slated to release on February 14, 2020.

Kartik has also been roped in to play the lead in the sequel of horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa starring Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan, which was released in 2007. In the second instalment titled Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, the charming actor will be seen alongside Kiara Advani and Tabu. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is hitting the screens on July 31, 2020.

Karan Johar has signed Kartik to play the lead along with Janhvi Kapoor and debutant Lakshya in Dostana 2. The film is the second part of 2008 film Dostana which had Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra Jonas in the lead roles.
