1.Bonafide star kid
Janhvi is the first child of Sridevi, India's first female superstar. So, it's no surprise then that she became paparazzi's favourite from a very young age.
2.The chosen one
Even before Janhvi herself realised she wanted to become an actor, it was predicted by many that she would become the next big thing in Bollywood.
3.Fashionista since four
Janhvi has been turning heads with her sartorial choices since quite a young age.
4.Glowing skin is always in
She has always had great skin and hair. Genetics, you see!
5.Janhvi's 'transformation' has always been a talking point
Janhvi's tranformation has been nothing less than extreme but instead of finding gossip points in her story, one should focus more on the efforts that went behind it. She has worked hard on her figure and looks and we should repsect her dedication, if nothing else.
6.Manish's midas touch
Very few know but celebrity fashion designer Manish Malhotra played a huge role in grooming Janhvi. He was one of Sridevi's closest friends and has been styling Janhvi since a very young age.
"Having worked with her mother since the beginning of my career, it brings me great joy to see Janhvi on the big screen. She will be an incredible actress and will make her mother proud," Manish had earlier told Mid-Day in an interview.
7.Not a cakewalk
As opposed to popular belief, being a star kid is not a bed of roses. It has never been! The day a 18-year-old Janhvi made a public appearance, rumours of her going under the knife started doing the rounds. While, no one could ever prove it, her alleged nose and lip jobs still continue to remain hot topics of discussion in closed circles.
8.The 21-year-old has grown to be a through professional
She got back on the sets of Dhadak to complete the shoot just a few days after her mother's tragic demise. “The only thing I wanted to do was to continue working because I realised that it’s probably the only thing that would keep me sane,” says Jahnvi.
9.Sridevi feared that her daughter is not thick-skinned enough to survive in the industry
“Mom would keep saying that she has done 400 films and Dhadak is my first film but the world will compare my debut film to her 400th.. She was very scared about that but I would say, ‘Mumma , I love acting, I will work hard, I promise'. I had this very naive and idealistic outlook about it but now I am beginning to understand that some people do have these expectations. I feel a sense of responsibility towards her fans, I want to earn that same kind of love. That motivates me. Also, my mum thought that I was naive, that I wasn’t thick-skinned enough to survive in this industry," she told Firstpost in a recent interview.
10.'I value this opportunity'
While she was preparing to make her acting debut, Bollywood was swimming neck-deep in a huge controversy on nepotism.
“I understand why some people might feel robbed of an opportunity and feel that I have got it relatively easily. I can understand where their frustration is coming from. It is horrible to feel like that with the kind of struggle that goes into it. But I value this opportunity. It would be wrong if I act as if it was my birthright to be here. I want to work harder for those people who think that I robbed them of an opportunity because I am sure that there are people who are much better looking and much more talented."
11.Grateful for all the love and attention
“It is a bit weird and unnerving that all of a sudden, I am seeing so much of myself. Fortunately, a huge chunk of Dhadak was shot outdoors so it was away from paparazzi and cameras, although I am very thankful and flattered that I get this kind of attention. I know that I have done nothing to deserve this. Hopefully, after this film, people will appreciate my work and then I will feel that I have earned a little bit of it but as of now, I know that I shouldn’t take it too seriously,” Janhvi told FirstPost.
