While we celebrate Father's Day today, here's taking a look back at some ideal fathers from Bollywood movies

Happy Father's Day! It is the day to celebrate fathers, our superheroes. From changing our diapers to standing rock-solid for us when we goof-up as adults, fathers have been a constant source of strength and support no matter what!

While real-life fathers have always been heroes, there are some reel-life father figures (a few of them are even fathers) who inspire the best out of dads. So whether you have just become a father or are still on the process of turning into the best father ever, these Bolly dads can be your source of inspiration.

Whether we talk about Salman Khan as Munni's uncle in Bajrangi Bhaijaan or Aamir Khan being the khadoos father to his children in Dangal, a few characters have some qualities which make them an ideal father. Whether fighting the world or consistently trying to understand children better, these characters have done it all. So, maybe we can adapt a few qualities from these characters each as we celebrate Father's Day next year too!

See the list of qualities from these Bollywood movie characters here:

Bajrangi Salman Khan played Munni (Harshaali Malhotra)'s uncle in Bajrangi Bhaijaan. A staunch Hindu from India, he goes up to Pakistan to drop Munni (who is named Shahida behind the Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi) till her home. Bajrangi stands by Munni despite all difficulties, removing her out of unfortunate circumstances.

While most fathers have these qualities in them, it would be extremely nice to see uncles and male friends also go to such lengths and save their nieces/nephews and friends. After all, compassion could go a long way.

Aamir Khan appeared to be a heartless father in Dangal. He got his children dropped out of school and trained them for wrestling from 5 am till night. Being a father, he knew that the world outside of their homes would not spare delicate daughters and hence he made them even tougher than boys.

Geeta and Babita Phogat, whose life story has been narrated in this film, are true examples of fighters who have achieved great success and they owe a big one to their father, who carried the dream with him and trained them enough to achieve the success.

Don't we all need some good advice from time-to-time? Like Alia Bhatt, all we ever look for are answers. If a father, like Shah Rukh Khan in the movie Dear Zindagi, could understand human brain better, we all could find the best advisors in our father.

Major spoiler alert!

Four thieves - played by Ajay Devgn, Sharman Joshi, Tusshar Kapoor and Arshad Warsi - enter into a house which belongs to Paresh Rawal, who plays a blind man in the film. He accepts their leader Gopal, played by Ajay, as his grandson. While the gang thinks that the old man does not realize their existence, Paresh Rawal goes on to reveal that he knew about the gang all the time and was only playing along. He had actually lost his grandson right before the thieves entered his house.

In real life too, fathers are known to play along and believe us, even though they know what the truth is. They wait for the right time and lead us into the right path thereafter.

Who wouldn't want a man like Amitabh Bachchan from Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna as their father! The super-chill dad had no judgements to make. His funda of life was clear - live and let live. If only Indian parents could be non-judgemental and not care about 'society' more than they should, life would be easier, no?

Is your father like any of the characters mentioned? We'd love to hear from you!
