Nothing amazes us on-screen more than watching the victory of good over evil. This fight of good vs bad, right vs wrong will always be celebrated, as we celebrate Lord Rama's victory over Lankeshwar Raavan with the festival of Dusshera. Actors have taken challenges to portray the mighty evil king Raavan or characters based on the psychology of the Lankeshwar. So, here we are with a list of actors who tried to outdo themselves by playing the epitome of evilness. (All image source: Twitter)

1. Arvind Trivedi

We start our list with a performer who has set an unbreakable benchmark in playing the role of Lankeshwar arrogant, mighty evil King Raavan. Late veteran actor Arvind Trivedi played the role of Raavan in Ramanand Sagar's cult television series Ramayana. Hands down with the fact that Trivedi is still the best version of Raavan ever seen on screen.

2. Amrish Puri

Next, we have the second-best performance of Raavan. Late veteran, ace performer Amrish Puri voiced as the evil king for the Hindi version of Hugo Sako's animated feature film Ramayana (1993). After Adipurush's teaser, netizens and the common audience are finding Hugo Sako's animated film more authentic to the source material.

3. Abhishek Bachchan

Abhishek Bachchan took the challenge of playing a modern-day Raavan, Beera in Mani Ratnam's Raavan. The 2010 film was the modern-day adaptation of an Indian epic, and Jr Bachchan showed honesty in portraying the new-age evil. Sadly, he had to face comparisons with Tamil star Vikram, who was playing Beera in the Tamil version of Mani Ratnam's film Raavanan. Both the films were shot simultaneously, and the Tamil version got a better reception than the Hindi version.

4. Arjun Rampal

Arjun Rampal played the role of Ra.One (Random access version one), an immortal baddie who travels from his game to the real world, and aims to spread darkness by killing his opponent. This take on Raavan was unique and entertaining. Arjun gave tough competition to Shah Rukh Khan.

5. Saif Ali Khan

We should have placed this before the other entries, but we can't deny the fact that after the Adipurush teaser, the actors mentioned above looked more promising as Raavan or presented the evilness better than Saif Ali Khan. The actor has always aced the negative character, and we can hope the same with Adipurush. But sadly, the initial look at Saif's with artificial layers of VFX disappoints us. Let's hope we could have much-improved visuals in the movie.
