As the most celebrated couple of Bollywood, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, are taking every possible measure to keep their wedding a super private affair, with no picture at all perforating through the thick walls of Lake Como!
However, information about the various ceremonies, even if in parts, is trickling out.
According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the couple got formally engaged on Monday.
On Tuesday, two more ceremonies, including sangeet and mehendi were held, while on Wednesday the couple will have a traditional Konkani wedding.
Ranveer Singh was in his element all this while- extremely happy and dancing with joy.
Deepika too was overwhelmed and couldn't control her tears. She was then consoled by her to-be-husband!
Here's what happened at the mehendi ceremony on Tueday morning and sangeet the same evening in detail!
Deepika and Ranveer got engaged on Monday, with 40 people in attendance, including close family and friends.
Reportedly, while Deepika wore a white dress, Ranveer went for a black suit on the occasion
On Tuesday, two ceremonies- mehendi in the morning and sangeet in the evening, were held.
Both the functions took place at different venues.
While Ranveer’s ceremony took place at the CastaDiva Resort, overlooking Lake Como, Deepika’s function took place at Villa d’Este, which is about five kilometers away
Singers Harshdeep Kaur and Shubha Mudgal sang songs during the mehendi ceremony.
While Harshdeep crooned traditional mehendi songs, Shubha joined in with Thumri songs.
Filmy songs were also played for the filmy couple.
In fact, Ranveer Singh reportedly made a dramatic entry, dancing to his song, 'Tune Maari Entriyan' (Gunday)- his favourite song, while Harshdeep sang a number of songs, including 'Mehndi Ni Mehndi, Dholak', 'Kala Shah Kala', 'Mehendi Hai Rachney Wali'
For sangeet, Deepika and Ranveer colour-coordinated their clothes, reported Mumbai Mirror. Both wore Sabyasachi creations
Through the ceremonies, Deepika was reportedly seen getting very emotional and tearing up even as Ranveer comforted her.
Pinkvilla , quoting a guest, reported, “Shubha Mudgal was performing a thumri when Deepika Padukone got emotional and was in tears. When she broke down, Ranveer, who could understand her emotional state, walked up to her and hugged her tight and consoled his lady love. He ensured she was smiling again with all his crazy love antics.”
According to ANI, on Wednesday morning, the couple had a traditional Konkani wedding. A North Indian style Anand Karaj ceremony, on the other hand, will take place on Thursday, said Mumbai Mirror
