Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Kajol name their favourite 90s movies

While Akshay Kumar said Sangharsh was his favourite movie, Kajol picked Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Ajay Devgn went with Zakhm

Twitter India started a fun challenge. The challenge was that Bollywood celebrities have to name two of their favourite 90s films, and nominate other people to participate in the challenge. Kajol took the initiative and now Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn among other stars have become part of the challenge. The celebrities are reliving the 90s by sharing their favourite movies using the newly launched emoji by Twitter. Twitter has launched this emoji to commemorate the 90s era.

Accepted Ajay Devgn's challenge, Akshay Kumar tweeted, "Thank you @ajaydevgn...so my favourite films from the 90s would have to be Sangharsh and Andaz Apna Apna. I’m further tagging @ranveerofficial and @karanjohar to share theirs. #90slove."

For the uninitiated, Akshay, Ajay, Ranveer and Karan Johar have collaborated for 'Sooryavanshi'. Directed by Rohit Shetty, the movie also features Katrina Kaif.

Accepting Akshay's challenge, Ranveer said his favourite movies were 'Judwaa' and 'Raja Babu' and further nominated Ali Abbas Zafar and Arjun Kapoor, his brothers from their movie 'Gunday'. "90’s is the decade that defines me ! I love everything 90’s ! From films to fashion to music to pop culture ! Two of my absolute favourite movies from the 90’s are JUDWAA & RAJA BABU ! :) I nominate @aliabbaszafar and Baba @arjunk26 to share their favourites :) #90slove," wrote Ranveer.

Arjun, nominated by Ranveer, went on to pick Main Khiladi Tu Anari and DDLJ as his top two 90s films, and nominated good friend Varun Dhawan and 'Panipat' co-star Kriti Sanon. "90s, what a filmy decade, 2 of my favorite films from 90s are Main Khiladi Tu Anari & DDLJ. I would like to nominate @Varun_dvn & @kritisanon to know their favorite films from 90s. #90sLove," wrote Arjun.

Nominated by wifey Kajol, Ajay picked up his own film 'Zakhm'. Further nominating Akshay Kumar and Abhishek Bachchan, he wrote, "So my most favourite film from the 90s till date is Zakhm. And I am further tagging @akshaykumar & @juniorbachchan to tell me theirs.. #90slove."

Picking father Amitabh Bachchan's 'Agneepath', Abhishek Bachchan stated that his favourite 90s film is 'Agneepath'. Accepting Ajay's challenge, he further nominated Riteish Deshmukh, Hrithik Roshan and John Abraham, and wrote, "Thanks AJ @ajaydevgn my favourite film from the 90’s would have to be Agneepath. I would like to further tag @Riteishd @iHrithik and @TheJohnAbraham to tell me theirs #90slove."

Instead of two films, Kriti picked four films. Nominating Ayushmann Khurrana, Tiger Shroff and Kartik Aaryan, who are yet to take up the challenge, Kriti wrote, "Lovvveee 90s!!! too difficult to pick 2 films.. well i love DDLJ alottt.. but since u’ve said it.. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Hum Aapke Hain Koun! Umm.. can i pls add Andaz Apna Apna too! I nominate @ayushmannk, @iTIGERSHROFF and @TheAaryanKartik to tell me theirs!"

Kajol picked up the trend from Twitter India. "Love this @TwitterIndia. My favourite movies are 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' & 'Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha' and I’m tagging @ajaydevgn @aamir_khan @karanjohar @TanishaaMukerji @iamsrk Tell me yours! #90slove," she wrote. Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan are yet to respond to her.

Riteish Deshmukh accepted Abhishek's challenge and named three movies, namely DDLJ, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Hum Aapke Hai Koun. "Thanks AB @juniorbachchan - My favourite films of 90s #DilwaleDulhaniyaLeJaayenege #KuchKuchHotaHai #HumAapkeHaiKaun I further tag my favourites to tell me thier 90’s favourite film. @MadhuriDixit @iamsrk @karanjohar," he wrote, further nominating Madhuri Dixit.

Replying to Akshay Kumar, Karan wrote, "Hey Akshay! I owe my journey in cinema to the 90s ! My favourite films in that decade are #HumAapkehaikaun and #Lamhe ( not including my most favourite #DDLJ as I worked on it)." He was also nominated by Kajol. Responding to her, KJo tweeted, "I love you kads! My memories of the 90’s are full of you!!!!"

Nominating Kiara Advani and Shakun Batra, Sidharth wrote, "Thanks for nominating me @karanjohar.. 90s was when I was introduced to Hindi cinema in New Delhi & I've been charmed & awestruck ever since.. My favourite films are #DDLJ and #JoJeetaWohiSikandar. I further nominate @advani_kiara & my bro @shakunbatra to tell me theirs #90sLove"
