Legendary actor Rishi Kapoor left a void in the Hindi film industry when he breathed his last on April 30 in Mumbai, a day after India lost another of its gem, Irrfan Khan. Both died fighting cancer.

In both cases, the star's respective spouses were their pillars of strength who stood by their husbands in the trying times and helped them through every difficult or easy hour. And while little was known about Irrfan's wife Sutapa Sikdar until of late, actor and Rishi Kapoor's wife Neetu Kapoor remained in limelight through Rishi's battle against cancer.

In fact, through Rishi's treatment in New York, Neetu would often take to her Instagram handle to share glimpses of their life through series of photos and videos. After all, the golden couple of Bollywood was also one of the most popular star-couple in their heydays. Even now, Neetu sometimes takes to her social media handle to recall the happy memories with late Rishi and express how much she misses him.

There's no denying that Neetu Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor were a clear departure from the norm - a hit onscreen couple, they were also a happily married one too.

And while quite recently Neetu Kapoor, during a recent appearance on an upcoming episode of Indian Idol 12, revealed how her late husband and megastar Rishi Kapoor had proposed to her, the couple's love story has wowed fans over the years.
