The film saw Salman is a completely different avatar as he played the role of Bajrangi, a zealous devotee of Hindu deity Hanuman, who begins a journey to take a mute six-year-old Pakistani Muslim girl, separated in India from her parents, back to her hometown in Pakistan.
The film, which boasts of being the third highest-grossing Indian film and second highest-grossing Bollywood film, won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment at the 63rd National Film Awards. 1. Here's how Nawazuddin became part of Bajrangi Bhaijaan
It was Salman Khan’s idea to cast Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the third most important character in the film not only because he liked him as a person but he had also worked with him in Kick.

The film is written by K .V Vijayendra Prasad who is the father of Baahubali's director SS Rajamouli.
3. Bajrangi Bhaijaan introduced audiences to Salman Khan THE ACTOR
Director Kabir Khan conceived Bajrangi's character while shooting for Ek Tha Tiger with Salman Khan. The two had decided at the time that they will collaborate for a film which will be titled Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Known for doing romantic and action films, Salman Khan chose an emotional plot this time which was a risk that paid off. The relevant plot struck the right chord with the audience and left them teary-eyed with joy.
