Actress Richa Chadha is not one to mince words. A strongly opinionated star, Richa is known to speak her mind on subjects or for that matter even news reports that she deems fit to express her opinion on.

Recently, when a Twitter user raised an objection on and pointed on how the horrific night when the grisly crime on Nirbhaya took place has suddenly become the 'pride of India', referring to Netflix series 'Delhi Crime' winning India's first-ever International Emmy Awards under the Best Drama Series category, Richa took to Twitter to defend the show's big win.

Meanwhile, a few other social media users too, have expressed objection to the show, based on the horrific December 16, 2012 rape case, receiving applause and congratulatory messages.

However, to one Twitter user, Richa replied and wrote, "Actual crime ko kam karne ke liye kuch kiya aapne? Shame on rape culture bol na, why the show? The industry is celebrating the achievement of a show made on the subject that won big internationally. Fix reality first. Many rapes, as brutal have occurred. You can’t deny reality (sic)."

Several users supported Richa in her defence against the Twitter user's tweet calling out 'Delhi Crime's Emmy win.

"Ya exactly, the show is just accurately reflecting the current condition of the state. What's wrong in showing the truth. That's the only way things will get better if people are aware of the truth about woman safety in Delhi (sic)," wrote a user.

"His outburst is actually shame, so don't bother Miss!" wrote another.

"Also, #DelhiCrime showcases the hard-working police team that unearthed that inhumane crime. The dedicated efforts of the police team ensured justice for the victim and her family. There is nothing wrong when we present the police version of the investigation!" wrote yet another user.

Earlier, Richa had congratulated the 'Delhi Crime' team on Twitter after the show won in the Best Drama category, creating history for the country. “Congratulations to the whole cast and crew of #DelhiCrime for this huge international recognition and making India proud! @RichieMehta @ShefaliShah_ @RasikaDugal @_AdilHussain @rajeshtailang #Samyukthasheikh heart is happy,” she wrote.
