Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan's son Taimur Ali Khan turns 4 on December 20. And before the big day, in an interview, the 'Udta Punjab' star recalled how she was confronted about her son's name by a 'famous personality' who came visiting her at the hospital when she had given birth to Taimur.

Taimur became the talk of the town as soon as news of his birth was outed in the media. Even before the official photos of him was shared by the parents, several pictures of him made its way onto social media. However, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan faced a lot of criticism when the actress's close friend and filmmaker Karan Johar revealed the name of their first child 'Taimur Ali Khan' as he took to social media to congratulate the couple.

Soon after, netizens trolled Kareena and Saif and the name sparked a debate online with social media users pointing out that Taimur or Timur or Timur-e-Lang is historically associated with the bloodthirsty 14th-century Turkic conqueror Timur the Lame, or Tamerlane, who is believed to have spearheaded a brutal massacre of Indians in 1399 AD.

The debate went on but Kareena and Saif didn't really care or give even a thought to changing the name. Kareena always maintained that Taimur was her child and she and Saif could name him whatever they wished.

Recently, during her interaction with MojoStory, reflecting on the same Kareena said, "What happened about his name was just ghastly. It was disgusting and I'll never forget it. It has obviously scarred me deeply as a person, as a mother. What I name my child, what I call him, is completely my discretion and of nobody else's concern."

Recalling an incident where a 'famous personality' who came to visit her at the hospital in 2016 confronted her about Taimur's name and how it affected her, Kareena said, "(A famous personality), on the pretext of visiting me and the baby, came up to me and in the conversation of actually saying congratulations, and said that 'what’s with you? Why would you name your son Taimur?' And I was like, It hadn’t even been 8 hours since I’d delivered. And I literally started crying. That person was asked to leave. My journey with that started then where I just made up my mind and I said this is my boy, my son. I don’t care what happens. As long as he is happy, and he is healthy and we’re happy. I’m just gonna go home and go away with this. I don’t want to know anything else. What is trolling, what is happening.”

During her interview, Kareena said that she wouldn't want to name the person because she has let 'bygones be bygones'.

"We named him Taimur because we liked the sound of the name," Kareena said, adding that she just wants Taimur to 'grow normally'.

Kareena and Saif are expecting their second child together.

On being asked if she had decided her baby's name by Neha Dhupia who was a guest on the actress's show What Women Want, Kareena had said, "After the whole controversy of Taimur, both Saif and me have not even thought about it. We’re like going to leave it last minute and then spring a surprise."
