Twinning tunes: Sisters Sukriti Kakar and Prakriti Kakar talk about songs that bind them
The sisters are now working on independent music together
Twin sisters Sukriti and Prakriti Kakar have both sung for the superhit film, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. While Sukriti crooned a wedding song called Lakk Mera Hit, Prakriti sang Subah Subah. The sisters are now working on independent music together. “We hope to release it this year onwards where we both will sing together,” says the Badnaamiyan (Hate Story IV) singer, Sukriti.
Favourite songs sung by each other and why
Sukriti Kakar: Prakriti’s debut Katra Katra (Alone), Hai Zaroori (Azhar), and Hawa Hawa (Mubarakan). They are all so different from each other and she’s really proved her versatility through them.
Prakriti Kakar: I love Sukriti’s Kar Gayi Chull (Kapoor & Sons) and Pehli Baar (Dil Dhadakne Do). They’ve got a certain freshness and hook about them.
Songs (old or new) you’d like to sing as a duet
Sukriti: I think Pinga (Bajirao Mastani) is a recent song that I’d love to sing with Prakriti.
Prakriti: Dola Re Dola would be another interesting duet.
A special song related to each other
Sukriti: Hawa Hawai from Mr India has to be our favourite childhood song. I remember singing it together every chance we got!
Prakiti: Our lunches and dinners wouldn’t be complete without playing this song.
