Over her 15 year-long career (and her 40-plus films), Katrina Kaif has come a long way from being just an eye-candy. Today, The actor, who gained prominence in the mid 2000s with films such as 'Maine Pyaar Kyu Kiya', 'Namastey London' and 'Singh is Kinng' among others, has come to be known as one of top female stars in the commercial sphere of Bollywood.

She has played everything from a scuba diver in 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara', ball-busting ISI agent in 'Ek Tha Tiger', to even a journalist in 'Jagga Jasoos'. She has build a durable career that sees her in not one but three releases ('Thugs of Hindostan', 'Zero' and 'Bharat') with the three Khans over a span of less than a year.

Her film choices are (and have always been) largely based on her gut instinct, the material at hand and the directors but she 'took a leap' with 'Zero', she says. For this is the first time (after her having become a star) when she has accepted the role of a second female lead in a film.

During an exclusive chat with DNA, Katrina admitted being a bit apprehensive about taking the role of Babita Kumari initially since she knew her screen time was relatively lesser than Anushka Sharma's. But, she decided to take the leap and hopes and wishes, with all her might, that it pays off.
