It was exactly a year back that Hrithik Roshan was announced as the lead character for Vikas Bahl's movie Super 30. Considering that the actor is Bollywood's Greek God, who would take up a role like that, people were interested about what they were going to experience.
The trailer of Super 30 released recently and it became the talk of the town. Anand Kumar, who has been involved with the project since the beginning, got into an exclusive chat with DNA and spoke about how Hrithik Roshan is 'more than perfect' for the role.
Here are some excerpts from the interview:
You have been associated with Super 30 since start. Enlighten us about your role with the filmmaking.
I learnt through the media that there are a lot of fights over movie rights. I was involved so that Super 30 turns out to be as honest as possible. I read the script and we came to an agreement to no add masaledaar material. It took us 8 months for the process to go forward, and then we were good to go.
Have you seen Super 30?
No, but I have seen some portions which I think are brilliant.
Was Hrithik Roshan the perfect choice for Super 30?
Not perfect, Hrithik is absolutely fitting the role. The way he speaks, it made me feel like I am looking at my shadow.
Did you give him any tips?
We met many times. It was a memorable experience. He wants to learn and understand everything. In fact he wouldn't take one step further till he doesn't understand anything.
How did your family react when they came to know about your biopic?
They were extremely happy and scared at the same time. They feared the attacks, which actually took place.
Directed by Vikas Bahl, Super 30 is now slated to release on July 12. The movie also stars Mrunal Thakur as Hrithik's girlfriend, CID famed Aditya Srivastava as Hrithik's colleague and co-owner of Super 30, and Pankaj Tipathi as a politician. The movie will also see Gully Boy actor Vijay Verma in a cameo appearance.
