Sohan Kumar, son-in-law of Karnataka chief minister BS Yeddyurappa, today moved the Karnataka high court seeking quashment of a lower court order of taking cognisance of the offences made out against the BJP leader and his family members in four complaints.
The fresh batch of applications were filed before the high court a day after it granted interim stay on the lower court order which had taken cognisance of offences mentioned in the first complaint against Yeddyurappa and his family members and ordered a probe by the lok ayukta police.
Kumar has filed three applications challenging the order of the 23rd additional civil and sessions court which had ordered the lok ayukta probe on March 24.
Akka Mahadevi, named as one of the accused in one of the complaints, has also moved the high court with a similar plea.
The petitions are yet to be listed for hearing.
The complaints were filed by two city-based advocates, Sirajin Basha and KN Balaraj, accusing Yeddyurappa and his family members of indulging in irregularities in denotification of lands acquired by Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) and sought their prosecution under the provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act.
