Now, Bangaloreans can fly to Singapore with a fare price of Rs 5499. Tigerair, the Singapore-based budget carrier, in collaboration with Cleartrip has announced one off special fares with limited sales period of Rs 5499. The booking offer is available till August 17. The travel period for this offer is from August 28 to December 12, 2014.

With this Tigerair wants to expand its distribution presence in India by getting into partnership with leading online portals like Cleartrip, Makemytrip etc.

International travel in India is no longer restricted to the elite. In fact, international trips by Indians is growing by 14-15%. Places like Thailand, Singapore, Middle-East and South East Asia are some of the destinations that Indians are regularly visiting.

Also, online bookings has increased tremendously over the years. "Eight years ago, there was absolutely no bookings made online for international travel. Today, about 15% of the bookings made online are for international destinations. Also, bookings through mobile phones have increased," said Samyukth Sridharan, president and chief operating officer, Cleartrip.

The offer is valid for five Indian cities such as Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi and Tiruchirapalli.
