The deceased, R Deepti, was a BTech graduate and a native of Andhra Pradesh. She had studied engineering in Hyderabad. She was staying in a PG in Madiwala in Bangalore. Police said she had come to Bangalore in search of a job one-and-a-half years ago.

Deepti returned to Bangalore from her native place on Tuesday evening. Her roommates, who work the nightshift, left for work after dinner on Tuesday night. After they left, Deepti hanged herself.

The police said although a suicide note was not found from her room, Deepti apparently committed suicide because she failed to secure a job. The police said Deepti lost her father in her childhood and her mother is an anganwadi worker. She has a younger brother who is still studying.

With financial help from well-wishers and loans, Deepti completed her education. Even when she came to Bangalore one-and-a-half years ago to hunt for a job, she had borrowed an amount of `10,000.
