SSLC exams in Karnataka in the time of World Cup

The Karnataka Secondary Education Examinations Board (KSEEB) is all set to conduct the final examinations of the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) for the current academic year from April 1. The examinations will conclude on April 13.

Over 8.74 lakh students will appear for the examinations this year at 2,951 examination canters across the state. To avoid malpractice and other illegal activities, the board has constituted both sitting and flying squads. This year, the board identified 346 sensitive and super-sensitive canters across the state.

About 2,629 special children are appearing for the examinations. Over 42,000 teachers will evaluate answer scripts at 208 evaluation canters. This is the second batch of students to take the examination under the revised pattern of 75:25, where 75% of questions will be descriptive, and the rest will come with multiple-choice answers.

“Understandably, there is a little tension, but then we are the second batch of students writing the examinations under the revised pattern. We are happy to have at least one set of sample question papers for reference,” said Shubadha, a student of Vidya Vardaka School, who is preparing for the SSLC examination.
The KSEEB had earlier prepared a model question paper for all the subjects and distributed those to all government and aided schools. “For private schools, we have asked them to buy the model question papers from us,” said an official of the board.
