Campaigning for the Congress, former Union minister SM Krishna said on Saturday that he would do canvassing only in those areas where the party is fielding weak candidates.He wryly said that he would try to drum up support for these candidates so that at least his followers vote for them. He conceded that the party has made a strategic lapse by not cashing in on the pro-Congress wave in the state. Further, he said he was surprised to see 50-60 people involved in the process of selecting party candidates.He said earlier the selection committee would comprise only 15-16 members. He was asked if he was angry about this, to which he said he was only surprised.He recalled his contribution to making Bangalore the IT capital of the country and urged the current generation of leaders to take forward the good work his government had done. He said if the new government disapproved of Bangalore Agenda Task Force (it came into being during Krishna’s tenure as the CM), it could create a new agency to work towards betterment of Bangalore. He said a couple of ministers may take charge of it and they may invite the movers and shakers of the IT&T sector to set the ball rolling.On what keeps him goingThe 80-year-old politician said he plays tennis, listens to music and practises it, besides yoga, to keep his faculties sharp. He said his exit from the Union cabinet was not a painful one as he was, owing to his age, finding it tough to keep up with the frequent foreign tours.
